omona, how do you think about the last episodes? And how do you think about the drama as a whole?

I agree with much of this, except I think the 13 years was reasonable. The state had utterly failed to protect him or his mother, and he was a powerless child. The failure of the state is further demonstrated by the utter ineptitude in which the investigation was handled, sending the security guard to jail to cover up shoddy construction/fire safety (which contributed to the extent of the tragedy.) There are extenuating circumstances that don't justify the killing, at all, but do add context to show it was not motivated by animus. And, honestly, repenting and confession does affect punishment.

While I don't support capital punishment, the father being sentenced to death in the show's world was fitting.

I'm here wondering if they changed the storyline towards the end/they weren't finished with it when filming started, because of the concurrent filming. and the fact that they lost steam at the end is sad though, it was so promising!

The writing choices in this show are inane. Some of the direction too, like why are they always shown walking at the slowest possible pace? The writer was both far too ambitious and also had no idea how to fill/pace the show. So annoying.

As an example of pacing/writing: watching Lee ahn and Jae In try to find a building in episode 15 was an exercise in stupidity and frustration. Like, it took him how long to realize it was from high up? And while some of the threads in the show weren't precisely dropped, they were poorly and casually explained/handled. The show should have been either light or serious, or it should have had a much tighter writing/directing staff.

I do appreciate that the kept Lee Ahn & hyung's relationship complicated in the end. It is a complicated thing, I don't believe there is an easy answer to how Lee Ahn should feel, and to how the character was portrayed.

OP is right, in that one pic Jinyoung looks tipsy, but also like his lippie is still perfect. How does that work? Especially in a matte shade.

My final thoughts: Jinyoung owes me for the 16 hours I spent. He better bring some extraness to his comeback dancing.

shows writing definitely lost steam at the end. the writer was really ambitious at the start but like most k-drama writers cannot write an ending.

at least my baby looked amazing the whole time and did a great job. i hope he picks another project soon like this winter post-world tour

idt he looked amazing in the first couple eps as a student but that two-year flash forward was THE BEST thing that show did because the Glow Up was realllll.

I'm like half way through Ep 13 and honestly reading this makes me just want to stop there lol.

In my head, Eun Soo isn't dead, ya maybe Sung Mo killed all those people and set fire back then but Imma pretend the main 3 found out and helped pin it on Seung Mo's dad and Jae In's dad got out and Eun Soo through this experience learned that she should aim for higher than Seung Mo. Oh and Eun Soo's dad loses his job and faces corruption charges.

Idk something along those lines. Maybe Seung Mo's mom dies too, idc about her.

oh no worries, it's a discussion post. I came in expecting the episodes to be discussed and spoilery. Sometimes I like reading spoilers first to decide if I still wanna watch it and... I think I'm gonna pass on the last few eps tbh lol

i'm just gonna say it, i still don't understand who murdered whom and who plotted which killing spree and who stole whose identity. yeah i'm dumb and honestly i wasn't even in it for the crime/drama aspect but i feel like i know as much as i did when i first started watching lmao :o apparently it's all solved now? but i'm still like... how

i'm still sad about jisoo :( her death was truly without any purpose. i understand that it was part of sungmo's redemption arc but that was very weak and considering he ended up in prison anyway and no one really forgave him/remained on the fence about him it really made no sense for her to die. like would have anything happened differently if she was still alive? i think not, except maybe her father agreeing to start a new investigation and then turning himself in. whatever. justice for jisoo noona!

jaein putting handcuffs on sungmo was very, very satisfying! i'm glad it was her who got to do that. although yes i agree with a comment above, that her speech about the punishment of time was a little weak. that said, that whole part in the last episode, with lee ahn confronting sungmo, jaein and police arriving to arrest him and everything, that was a true highlight of the show for me! really really really good acting by jinyoung and kim kwon!!! definitely one of my most favorite scenes.

i felt like jaein was a little shafted towards the end, like there was SO MUCH happening with sungmo and lee ahn, that sometimes i felt like they didn't really know what to do with her so they had her do ~stuff at the police station or whatever. but well everything still came together at the end! they got another date (sadly no amusement park) and moved in together kdfkdfj I KNEW IT... i'm honestly a little surprised that there was no marriage proposal lmfao

crime-wise, yeah, it seems resolved mostly but i was pleasantly surprised to see that they handled the matter of forgiveness really well! i was prepared to watch them all forgive sungmo but it's a really really difficult subject, especially to someone like lee ahn, and that kind of struggle between wanting to forgive someone but not being able to was portrayed pretty well. i liked that scene where lee ahn and sungmo's mom run into each other in the apartment and ahn goes like "don't expect me to forgive hyung, at least not right now" that was good!

all in all, a very entertaining drama. it's funny because i wish we could see more of jinyoung and yeeun NOW that they're more comfortable with each other (which was pretty obvious in their last few scenes together). i think you can tell they both became much better actors through this drama, like remember the beginning? :') i'm not worried about yeeun but i do hope that FOR ONCE jype doesn't drop the ball on jinyoung and gets him another acting gig soon!!

also!!!!!!!!!!! someone get jinyoung and kyungsoo in a drama or movie together PLEASE

also! my theory for why we didn't get a single (!!!) pic of jinyoung or yeeun or kim kwon or dasom at their wrap-up party, except for a few with the kids and staff very early into the night: they sent the kids and their parents home and got shitfaced together

because HOW ELSE is it possible that there is not a single pic out there... even the one that kim kwon posted afterwards was from their last day of filming it wasn't even from the party kfhgkfd and like i don't except jinyoung to update his insta BUT STILL

I'm here wondering why aren't there pictures of Dasom and Jinyoung interacting. if JB can be close to Dasom, why is Jinyoung not seen with her?!

I'm about a week late but I hadn't had a chance to watch the last two episodes because of finals.

I'm pretty disappointed with how the show decided to end. More so because it had such a strong start and I fell in love with the characters. The show knew how to switch tones/genres fairly smoothly imho in the beginning. It could be both serious/dark and cute/funny.

I wish we'd gotten more Jaein/LeeAhn moments. The show became to invested in solving the 'mysterious case' )which btw became so convoluted I almost gave up on trying to piece it together. The show forgot that its strong points where its characters and their dynamics.

I think I only really liked Seungmo because of his relationship to LeeAhn (and Eunsoo). I didn't care about his mom. As tragic as their story was, I wish the show hadn't focused on that so much. Also! what was the point of killing off Eunsoo other than breaking my heart.
