On April 30, several industry insiders stated that the exclusive contracts of TraxX’s members with SM Entertainment have ended. As a result, Jay and Jungmo decided to leave the agency after 15 years of promoting together.

In response, a source from SM Entertainment clarified, “The exclusive contracts of TraxX’s Jay and Jungmo recently expired. Please show a lot of support for the paths they will be walking on in the future.”

The two made their debut in 2004 as members of TRAX, the first-ever rock band to debut under SM Entertainment. In March 2018, the group announced that they will be changing their name to TraxX and expanding their musical spectrum as an EDM group by recruiting DJ and producer Ginjo as a new member.

I really loved trax, especially the early years. They were a nice anomaly. Scorpio remains one of my fav songs ever.

I was always so confused about them becoming an EDM group - I wonder if they did that just to say 'okay, we'll do what you want' and then bounce. I love the two of them but was always so confused about them being signed for SM. SM tried in the beginning but they're really not equip for Trax's music.

FREE TRAX(X)!!!!!

I love Oh My Goddess the most. That song is a jam and a half. I also loved Over the Rainbow, but the slow piano one.

The Trax was my first introduction to korean music way back in the early, early days of youtube (it was either Paradox or Scorpio). I never payed much attention to their music after that though, other than the song with Seohyun in the music video. I remember really liking that song.

I used to really love their music back in the day. It sucks how they never hit it big like other SM groups. But SM was not the best agency for them. I wish them success in the future and the best of luck. Hopefully things will start looking up for them eventually. I do wonder if Jay and Jungmo would continue to work together or go their separate ways.
