These notes are random but I'm too tired to proof-read my comment
Date: 2019-04-26 07:14 pm (UTC)My initial note says that finally someone has a gun but that turned out to be fucking useless didn't it. You just had to kill off one of not only one of the good female characters but literally one the only good cops in this whole drama.
Why is Jisoo's dad suddenly co-operative? His daughter's death made him miraculously changed his morals now? And then we're just gonna let it slide that he took bribes even if YSS "wasn't bribe bc it wasn't enough money" lol, he was still being bribed by someone else?
Also the evidence he was so sure of that pointed to Jaein's dad seemed kinda shoddy to begin with, it just seemed like he wanted to do a fast job instead of a good job. "limbs to malfunction with a rotten head" - so he admits/believes Jisoo got killed bc he was corrupt?
Someone already theorized in a previous post that Sungmo might be the one who set the fire so this is just like
The "trap, sail, anchor" analogy is quite clever.
All the angst is just highlighting to me that they're not paying at their strengths, acting is a bit awkward tho I like that Ahn is more useful now. The expressions are a bit too dramatic for my taste, and I'm sorry but Sungmo's actor doesn't emote well imo. I've also just watched several movies that show the brilliance of subtle acting and show & tell without words, so coming back to watch kdrama it's even more noticeable and it's becoming such a pet peeve of mine lol.
Jinyoung is still a good crier tho and he does it so realistically I almost get uncomfortable watching him do it.
Sungmo is fkcing annoying me, and I would've been fcking pissed if I'd seen him walk in after I'd looked for him so frantically. And idk are they trying to spin it around and justify his actions but I'm still pissed. The whole end of this drama is gonna revolve around him isn't it, and idk am I nhft tbh (I already miss all the Jaein x Ahn moments, the best part of this drama tbh)
There are so many things I don't understand (again lol, tagline of my whole experience watching this drama), like wasn't Seungmo too young during the apartment fire to be involved in police work?? And the way they portray alexithymia feeling emotions and feeling pain aren't the same thing tho (feeling pain is a part of the ability to feel like in the 5 senses we have, it's got nothing to do with emotions imo? Also is it bad I laughed when the killer walked into the bear trap)? Also if he stopped treating his alexithymia shouldn't he then not be able to feel anger or?
Also why must they release Sungmo's mom if they know her perpetrator is still on free foot?? If she's part of the investigation or at least in danger of being pursued by the killer wouldn't they offer her police protection, or ask her to aid them in the investigation?
Also idk why they're so shocked when Sungmo said information gained by psychometry isn't usable in court, they still don't have evidence even tho they have knowledge, but they'd come to the same conclusion earlier so idk why they're so surprised when Sungmo told them that. Maybe they tried to use that to make him confess but shouldn't they know better by know that Sungmo is too clever to fall into that trap, even I admit that even tho I hate the guy lol (also reminds me that he was so lousy at getting rid of evidence so he must've done it on purpose for them to find it). I get that Jaein and Ahn are rookies but someone in the police should've realized this (tho all the cops seem to suck at their job, except of maybe Dae-Nam, so why am I surprised).
Also I wonder if he wanted Jaein to do the interrogation bc he knew she wouldn't be able to push him enough to spill the truth? Then again Ahn's powers get better when he's desperate and Sungmo knew this and this is just all a scheme that he's laid out probably. Why tho, and at the expense of his friends/family, idk.
Give me more Ahn and Ahn x Jaein in the final episodes, plz.

Date: 2019-04-26 10:23 pm (UTC)I really enjoy these posts so thank you for making them
At first I was too lazy to discuss and theorise which I regret because it would've been nice to go back and see what i thought at the start in comparison to now but alas laziness is the bane of my life 😒

Date: 2019-04-27 12:38 am (UTC)i guess if they offered seongmo's mom any protection she probably wouldnt even accept it anyways, since he's looking after her now. plus she's supposed to like not trust the police - understandable since they just let him escape lmao

Date: 2019-04-26 08:04 pm (UTC)worst part of this week: jisoo dying
for a second i was like, did i even watch this week's episodes? lmao because i watched them so early (right after subs were available) so it already feels like a lifetime since i've seen them. anyway. i absolutely hate them for killing off jisoo. not only because she was such a refreshing and honest character among total weirdos like sungmo, but also because it was so unecessary i feel like? was there a purpose to her death? all it has done so far is inflict more pain on lee ahn who already suffers so much so fuck them
idk. i've had a lot of thoughts while watching but jisoo dying pissed me off so much, i don't even want to talk about anything!!!! i know sungmo is getting his redemption arc but whatever. fuck him too. i only care about ahn and jaein from now on. i'm a little sad we didn't get much cuteness from them this week but yeah. they still quietly support and motivate each other in small moments, i enjoy that a lot. they're a good couple! jinyoung and yeeun are good actors too. i was thinking back to a couple of the earliest episodes and it's amazing how much they have improved! maybe that's just me but i find them much more natural and just, you know, good? i don't even cringe anymore lmao. jinyoung is a scarily good fake-crier lmfaooo oh my god i was like, please... i know this isn't real but... please... stop crying omg i actually did tear up quite a bit this week in the whole aftermath of jisoo's death :')
kinda crazy that jinyoung is still filming even though it's literally about to end but i was told that's how k-drama filming usually goes...... damn. on the one hand i'm gonna be sad once it's really over but on the other hand i'm ready for him to finish and go back to got7 again :') two episodes left!

Date: 2019-04-26 09:20 pm (UTC)And not just Ahn, but Jaein, whose dad literally got framed for murder, which ruined her life as well, and Sungmo KNEW IT ALL ALONG god she needs to be rightfully pissed about that, I hope they don't sugarcoat it in anyway IS2G....
(thanks~)

Date: 2019-04-26 08:48 pm (UTC)Seungmo's ANDWE was really funny tho. Idk I don't really like him anymore
AND BITCH IF HE KILLED THOSE WOMEN AND SET THE FIRE THEN I'D BE RIGHT AHAHAAHAHAHAAH
I don't wanna hate him but he's been such AN ASS AND NONE OF THIS WOULD'VE FUCKING HAPPENED IF HE TRUSTED THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM PROPERLY AND DIDN'T GIVE THEM STUPID CLUES AND PUZZLES TO SOLVE. HE'S SO ANNYING
Geun-taek stepping into the bear trap was hilarious. like how did he not walk into it when he was coming in???? so dumb but great
anyway I cried loads of Jisoo. such bullshit. seungmo can go fuck himself, idc if they try and redeem him but I hope to god they don't. sorry ahn
I DON'T WANT THIS TO END. In that I want to know everything now and I was Seungmo to go away but what will I do without this???? I won't have anything to look forward. NEED Jinyoung to act in something again soon ;~;

Date: 2019-04-26 09:24 pm (UTC)Sungmo has done so much shit to Ahn and Jaein I swear if they undermine that in anyways and just redeem him somehow in the end... ughhh.
Afaik this drama has gotten good feedback, so I hope it means more demand for Jinyoung to act again, fingers crossed :P

Date: 2019-04-26 10:18 pm (UTC)Urgh I miss Jisoo sfm 😭😭😭😭😭 she was the best why couldn't they kill someone else off. Or better yet not dsjsnsnsnsns.
Redemption arc will def happen I think, I just remembered that scene at Jisoo's grave sndjjsksmdmdmdmsns I hate it all
YESSS I look forward to seeing more yeeun too. And Dasom too ❤️❤️
I honestly can't wait for a boxset to come out. I'm definitely getting it even if it is region 3 or w/e 😭 😂
Honestly though, I didn't expect jinyoung's acting skills to be this good! I guess he's a perfectionist but still damn. Lee Ahn suits him perfectly so I guess that helps. I look forward to seeing him acting different types of characters~

Date: 2019-04-27 07:25 am (UTC)But Jinyoung has loads of potential! I'm kinda glad this drama has so many various genres (even if they don't always mash together that well) bc we get to see so many various sides of Jinyoung's acting and how versatile he can be!
Omg do they do box sets of kdramas? That would be pretty neat ngl.

Date: 2019-04-27 12:35 am (UTC)kay at first they were totally setting it up as though seongmo set the apartment fire and then they did a 180 and made it seem as if he didn't. wtf. i feel like it will turn out that he didn't.
honestly i have been doing my darndest but i'm starting to not follow what's going on in a lot of scenes lol.
obviously i'm upset about jisoo, i even teared up lol. i didn't think they were gonna go there BUT THEY DID

Date: 2019-04-27 05:55 am (UTC)The constant movement and tone shifts mean I don't really buy the characters feelings; how can I find Jaein's kidnapping as horrific as it is if two days later she's traipsing into a ghost station with her dopey (ninja) boyfriend for backup? Even more, how do I find her intelligent? So far the only people really selling the dark side are Hyung & his mom/dad.
And, wow, terrible people. Hyung is going to have a hard time justifying adding more trauma to people who were also traumatized as kids. I know they're all messed up, but to do terrible things and be redeemable you need an imperative purpose, which ...
I will say Jinyoung is better than I expected. I was not impressed by him in Dream Knight but his eyes really can emote. If he received training, direction, and practice, I think he could end up quite good. I hope he does get it.

Date: 2019-04-28 06:16 pm (UTC)But a lot just isn't executed well, which is the non-acting job. Lee ahn's skills aren't presented well, his fighting skills are ridiculous, the pacing, the editing, the writing, any reason to really like seongmo. It's just a really ambitious story with loads of elements and lots of it isn't delivering.
What is working is at least it moves quickly, it's fast paced, the romantic lead are fun and likeable enough, and our deceased jisoo, the morgue doc, and ji son's questionable second, all interacting with our baby leads.

Date: 2019-04-27 07:52 am (UTC)i'm so lost at the plot now. why do k-dramas like to leave everything to the last few episodes?! and hmm at the sudden love Sungmo feels for Jisoo though, like we could have more scenes on that
no subject
Date: 2019-04-27 10:07 am (UTC)yah we totally should have gotten more scenes between sungmo and jisoo when she was still alive because even if he didn't like her romantically, their friendship was kinda cute (despite jisoo putting in most of the emotional labor but what else is new) and they should have extended on that... if only to make it more believable that sungmo actually cares about jisoo post-death
