Hello Venus Members To Go Separate Ways Following Contract Expiration

On April 26, Fantagio Music announced through an official statement that the members of Hello Venus will be going their separate ways to pursue their individual careers.

The statement reads as follows:

Hello. This is Fantagio Music.

First of all, we express sincere gratitude to the fans who have cherished and loved the group Hello Venus for a long time.

The exclusive contracts of some members of Hello Venus (Alice, Nara, Lime, Yooyoung, Seoyoung, Yeoreum) with Fantagio Music will expire on May 8, 2019. After much discussion with the members about Hello Venus’s future activities, we came to the agreement to show support for each other in each individual’s desired activities in various areas for the futures of the members. Although the Hello Venus members still have a special relationship, we would like to cheer them on for each other individual paths.

Seoyoung and Yeoreum, who joined as Hello Venus members in 2014, will continue activities under our agency, and we are positively discussing with Yooyoung and Lime about contract renewals. Lastly, Alice and Nara made final decisions to [leave] on a positive note to chase their new dreams, and we have decided to respect those decisions.

We express our gratitude to the six members of artist Hello Venus, who have always shown their best from their debut until now. In addition, we will cheer on and support the desired individual paths of each of the members, and we will do our best to help so that they can grow in the future.

We express our sincere gratitude to the many fans who have sent constant love and support to Hello Venus over the past seven years, and we ask for your warm interest and support for the members who are awaiting new beginnings.

Hello Venus debuted in 2012 under Tricell Media, a joint company by Fantagio and Pledis Entertainment. Along with the departure of Yoo Ara and Yoonjo, the group moved to Fantagio in 2014 and added members Seoyoung and Yeoreum. Their most recent comeback was with “Mysterious” in January 2017.

It’s sad to see all these girl groups disbanding. Especially with them i feel like they had potential. they were more quirky and cute when they debuted but then they did a complete 180 in their image all of a sudden and i think that took a big toll on their fanbase plus their company keeping them in the basement later for a while until they finally released a single again. I wish them all the best! at least their company had the decency to release a statement to the fans yet larger companies with more resources can’t do the same for some reason.

now i'm wondering what would've happened if they had still been under pledis. would they have ended up like pristin? although from what i remember it did seem pledis was putting the money behind them in the beginning and actually supporting them but maybe hv might've still ended up like after school, seemingly successful but then disbanded with no statement

I feel sad for them and their fans but it was to be expected. They have been on hiatus for a while now, without much thought/promo from their agency who has other groups to focus on. I enjoyed their debut so much but Pledis and Fantagio ending their partnership took a hit on their fandom. Good luck with their solo careers!

Ending the partnership did impact me. I really liked Yoonjo and Ara in Hello Venus and then they were gone :( plus the new members, while I’m sure they’re sweet girls, they didn’t really add much to the group imo

With disbandings, I have two categories - ‘omg no!!!!! They’re we’re still doing well 😩’ And ‘it’s been over for awhile, I’m glad that there is closure and hopefully the members go on to have great lives’ - Hello Venus is in the second category. When you don’t have music out in 2 years and your label barely acknowledges you...yea lol

The early days of Hello Venus I was a big fan! When they went through line up changes and went with a concept change I’ll admit my interest declined a bit, but overall they gave us some great songs and I’m forever grateful!

I never really got into Hello Venus but I liked the members plenty, and they're very talented. I imagine Nara and Yooyoung will continue acting, and that Alice will re-pursue a solo career, and I look forward to seeing what the other three members choose.

I was surprised that Nara would leave, but I guess with Fantagio's troubles, acting jobs would be risky there. Alice probably left because she has always been wanting to sing, and Fantagio didn't exactly give her the chance.

I hope Lime gets to continue singing too, or at least have something to do. and can we have a Yoonjo x member collab a la Nine Muses?

Fantagio seems to be in a completely different place than they were last year. Eunwoo and Moonbin are also starring in up coming dramas so I don't think that's a reason.

I'm sad :c Nara will just stick to being an actress, she was never the best dancer or singer so.
I'm surprised Lime is planning on staying though. But I guess if her and Yooyoung are looking to stay in the business it might be better as I'm not sure another company would pick them up.

In conclusion I'm pissed we never got our promised giant comeback but... when has Fantagio ever done shit for HV?...
