In case anyone was wondering, AB6IX is short for absolute six, or the “transcendental combination of five members and the fandom to open new horizons of Brand New Music”. Yes, the 6th member of the group are the fans. We can all make our K-Pop debut.

Apart from us the four members previously shown on season two of Produce 101, Jeon Woong, ex-YG/JYP trainee who appeared in an episode of Stray Kids, will also be part of AB6IX.

i think a lot of AB6IX stans are in consensus that there was supposed to be another member that somehow fell through, hence the ridiculous explanation for their name. also, apparently in the hangul keyboard(?) AB6IX = MU6IX = music? boo boo me for liking groups who end up with ridiculous names weki meki who?

4/5 of AB6IX were JYP trainees lol. woong was a back dancer for mxm so he was acquainted with youngmin and donghyun. daehwi and woong knew each other from their JYP days but somehow woojin (and donghyun in his jyp days) never met woong before??? ofc, it's all scripted for their reality but it's an interesting bts into the trainee system. i reckon that even though they were all jyp trainees at the time, daehwi and woong were more prominent/in line to debut so they spent more time together?

The excuse for the name sounds kinda like KARD scrapping the idea of having the D in their name represent hiDden member(s) and just making it their fandom name instead.
