The members of AOA are in talks to stay with FNC Entertainment!

On April 26, a source from the music industry stated, “It is reported that with their contracts ending in May, almost all of AOA members have already renewed their contracts [with FNC Entertainment] or they have verbally agreed to do so.”

The source continued, “It is true that each member received offers from a number of agencies in time for the end of their contracts. It seems that they wished to keep the name of AOA, which made them the stars they are today, more than to have individual activities.”

In response, a source from FNC Entertainment revealed, “We are positively discussing with the members about the renewal of their contracts.”

AOA made their debut in August 2012 with their first mini album “Angels’ Story.”

Them resigning, especially since they haven't been really active as a group lately + FNC just debuted a new girl group, isn't what I expected. But I'll always welcome more AOA!

"It seems that they wished to keep the name of AOA, which made them the stars they are today, more than to have individual activities."

or how to guilt-trip the members that haven't resigned yet (after all, they say ALMOST all members) and make them look like the bad guys and self-centered if they don't resign in the end

I feel like the AOA name would also help them with individual activities, since their name isn't as big as it used to be

am surprised they would re-sign, especially after ChoA left, they really took a hit...

They won with Bingle Bangle tho and more than once too. If they want to stay around they could have a market.

bingle bangle did really well actually and without the AOA (which is still a strong (household) name) they are nowhere, seolhyun has a change but with the AOA name even she is stronger

Honestly I agree with you, and I prob was one of those ‘omg she’s gone?? It’s ovah’ people in the beginning. Especially with that your last part, I thought there would be more excitement that an older group wants to continue :/

before bingle bangle i would've thought they were 100% gonna disband but the song did pretty well (despite my hatred for it lmao) so i guess it makes sense that they'd want to keep going a little longer

i miss their old sound tho

AOA fans sound confident they're renewing, I'm not sure but as long as they're happy. Other than Cherry Bullet, N.flying and SF9 will be the only active FNC groups this year + next if they decide not to continue so I'd like to see them keep going.

Slightly OT but Youkyung just joined an indie band and I'm hope she's happy too.

Oh yeah they're touring there now but still start enlisting this year (Hongki somewhere midyear, not sure about the others) and will be back end of 2020ish? I think that's the plan

They were meant to do a comeback in Korea this year but they recently said they're not doing it anymore which is likely thanks to shitty CJH fucking things up :/

He's doing a solo Japanese fanmeeting before enlistment but other than that + FTI Korean concert I'm not sure what else.

Apparently Jaejin is planning a solo debut before he enlists? Possibly as a fan gift but I have no idea about the details.

Omg that sounds great!

Even though their last title track was sort of a miss for me, the album was great! I’d really love to hear more music :) plus I want more girl groups with longevity!

They've been away for so long IDK how much they could do but if they want to stay I'll support it. It was foolish of FNC not to do a subunit project with Yuna and her sister with all this down time for both groups in both companies tho.

oh wow I'm surprised that most have signed on again. but the verbally agreed part sounds hilarious though.

let's hope FNC gives them more gigs now that they're one of the few active groups left for FNC

let's face it, 5 out of 6 remaining members doesn't really have anywhere else to go, seolhyun could definitely go elsewhere, but at this rate i think it's best for her to stay with FNC and AOA

Seolhyun needs to run.

it's good to see news of a senior girlgroup staying together but at the same time hasn't it been a while since their last comeback? i hope they have enough loyal fans to be able to stay together. and even though it's been a while i'm still disappointed they completely abandoned the band concept after their debut lol. n.flying is doing pretty well in the charts so it's not like there's no audience for pop rock. i guess though from what i remember their drummer left so they can't do a band song now nor does the company seem interested in debuting all female bands

Well 2/5ths of that are gone now so it's unlikely. I too am miffed we never got another solo AOA black comeback tho, especially since it was Moya that got them their first win as a group in the first damn place.

wow i didn't know that was the song that got them their first win. it's definitely still one of my faves of theirs. for some reason all of fnc male groups are bands but yet for the girls they don't give them that concept. there was a time when there were a few female bands out at once but i'm still bummed it never caught on as a trend in kpop

when WG reformed as a band I felt both annoyed and vindicated for AOA Black. I loved the year of Miniskirt but it was no surprise that Youkyung left when she did because she was basically being wasted in the basement growing out her hair.
