Boy group NewKidd to debut on April 25

J-FLO Entertainment boy group NewKidd will debut with a single album on April 25 at 6 PM. They previously had two predebut releases: "Will You Be Ma" in November 2017 with four members, and "Shooting Star" in July 2018 with six members. The debut line up will be seven members, and the single looks like it'll be called "Tu Eres".

i'm gonna wonder forever what happened with hansol that he didn't debut in nct. i already got so attached to him as an og member of the rookies so i was at least glad when he made unb but this....idk man. it's like he's babysitting.

These are entirely my assumptions:

He was likely among the Korean trainees being saved for a Chinese unit alongside Doyoung and Johnny who speak better Mandarin than the rest. Then THAAD happened and the Chinese unit was postponed. SM decided to put a few extra members in 127. Doyoung was chosen for vocals. Hansol is the better dancer but Johnny was chosen for English, possibly with future US advancement in mind. Hansol probably thought his chance to debut had passed because he was getting too old for SM standards so he left/didn't renew his trainee contract which would mean a few more years of uncertainty.
;tldr I think some of the circumstances were beyond their control, but who knows maybe this is all incorrect and other things happened between him and SM. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

As for Hansol in Newkidd, he may be the eldest but if you see their interactions like in Vlive and stuff he seems like the one being babysat lol. I'm exaggerating a bit but the leader Jinkwon, who is a whole 7 years younger than him, comes across as a natural leading/mothering type while Hansol isn't.

i remember in one of their vlives he said he only liked (i think) jun and kijoon because they were nice to him or something...this was after the members kept teasing him for being boring lmao
it really sucks as a group they didn't gain more traction/weren't promoted the way they should've been because i really liked their songs and dynamic (they had such good choreo too~!)

Definitely, they perform so well together. Even the ones who are not standout dancers on their own could keep up with the others. Their dynamic was great and I loved watching their noisy Vlives. I'm still salty they didn't get to do any farewell activities in Korea.

hm that's an interesting shakedown i wouldn't be surprised if there's some truth to it. i think whatever happened it had to have boiled down to the fact that he didn't know how long he'd be waiting on a unit to debut in which is a bummer but at least he's still in the industry so i can keep an eye on him.

i haven't seen any of the new kidd stuff but maybe i'll check some of it out this sounds cute.

They did a bunch of activities as 6 including music shows and busking, but I think it was said to be predebut since the members weren't complete yet. Kinda like Loona who had MVs and music show performances before revealing all members.

see..whenever companies go this route i usually end up missing the official debut...
