Park Yoochun appoints lawyer for allegations of drug use

Park Yoochun has appointed a lawyer for allegations of coercing Hwang Ha Na into using illegal drugs and using drugs himself.

On April 15, his agency C-JeS Entertainment released the following statement:

Hello. This is an announcement that Park Yoochun’s lawyer has been appointed.

However, his police questioning date has not been determined yet. His lawyer will announce the questioning date when it is determined within this week.

All press responses regarding Park Yoochun’s police investigation will be announced through Park Yoochun’s legal representative law firm from now on. (The law firm states that there is no separate official statement from them until he attends police questioning.)

Police conduct search and seizure of Park Yoochun

On April 16, the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency’s Drug Investigation Unit stated that the police began conducting a search and seizure of Park Yoochun since 9 a.m. KST.

11 police officers were put in to search Park Yoochun’s house in Hanam of Gyeonggi Province, his car, and his cell phone. Furthermore, the police also collected a hair sample from the singer for drug testing.

The police are investigating Park Yoochun after Hwang Ha Na claimed that she had been coerced into taking drugs by a celebrity friend. Afterwards, speculations arose that the friend was Park Yoochun due to the former romantic nature of their relationship, but the singer denied the allegations in a press conference on April 10.

Regarding the search and seizure, Park Yoochun’s legal representative Kwon Chang Bum said, “Our statement [that Park Yoochun is not guilty of using drugs] still stands.”

The singer is expected to undergo questioning on April 17 at the earliest.
