OMONA THEY DID(N&#39;T)!

Okay half of my notes disappeared somewhere so I'll try collect my thoughts:

- Lee Ahn being himself and giving me unrealistic expectations of guys being all romantic and good with words bc there's no dude like Ahn out there, perhaps the biggest tragedy in all of this

- so all the mains are like childhood friends??

- I just can't with the way Sungmo acts, that's just not how you can behave in the real world with other people!! He's lucky he's got people who can take it and are willing to stay (I understand he's got a condition but still...). That Sungmo x Ahn scene was cute tho, the first time Sungmo felt likeable lol and it was only bc of Ahn's bright and sweet character

- I tried quickly googling if alexithymia could be "cured" but I didn't find anything

- unexpectedly noona x officer are cute in their oddball dynamic (nope, still can't remember their names) and it's growing on me sdfgh

- damn single mother stigma is real in SK

- how was Ahn's and Daebong's "kiss" and accident way in any lol it looked like he just stepped forward and kissed Ahn?? Also isn't it weird how Ahn used to be super violent and reclusive and then he just... somehow turned into what he is today?

- That "100 ways to seduce on the first date" gag got me fucking DECEASED

OKAY JESUS THE ANGST
- we knew he'd find out at some point but so soon??? so you're just gonna lull me into a fuzzy feeling of first kisses &love & a cute af 1st date only to tear it away from the in the very next moment, and then punch me in the gut while you're at it huh?? (me @ this drama) COULD'VE GIVEN ME A LITTLE MORE TIME BEFORE THE ANGST GOD

- but this also shows one of the weakness to his ability that Sungmo mentioned earlier, that he only seen glimpses without context and doesn't know the full story. Thank god that misunderstanding got solved pretty quickly, I was afraid they would drag that out to make us miserable, instead they just... had Jaein be kidnapped asdfghj (I expect a heroic rescue by Ahn and then some reunion kisses and hugs, this drama owes it to me)

- there was a lot of heavy scenes back to back (also the rain was such a cliche but weelll JY looks good with wet hair so I don't mind). I noticed in kdramas they do a lot of these "talking out loud" monologues that sometimes seem kinda out of place, I feel like it works better when they're talking to someone else (or like when Ahn was @ his parents'grave). That being said, a lot of them were good, Jinyoung's delivery when he was "talking" with his parents was amazing (with Daebong JY's eyes were a little too intense for me lol).

- I get that Ahn's initial reaction to the revelation was what it was (but the 180 in his mood was chilling bc he's usually such a cheerful guy, I feel bad for Jaein), but the fact that he came to his senses & regretted it afterwards & just thought about him hurting Jaein's feelings, AHN IS TOO SWEET HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS

- one of the stand-out scenes in the two episodes imo was unexpectedly Jaein's noona's story about her miscarriage and what she said to Jaein, that scene was written and acted really well and left an impression on me for sure

- still a bit confused how Ahn's powers work exactly, how does he see the killer's face when touching the phone on the ground, like Jaein wasn't touching it at that moment so how does it have a memory imprint?

- I wonder what the relationship between the killer and Jaein's dad is bc I think that's gonna be one of the key aspects in this whole story, and that we don't have any info on yet. It would also explain why Jaein is seemingly important in all of this (I guess??) and the connection between Sungmo and Jaein. So what's the deal with the killer x Jaein's dad? Are they related? old friends? enemies?

- when Sungmo revealed that he knew Jaein's dad was innocent I just raged at my computer screen, like most of the misunderstanding/mysteries in this show would've been more easily solved if he just shared? info? with? people??

- we still got 6 episodes left omg

ahn and daebong's kiss was not supposed to be accidental! if i understood it correctly, those guys that beat daebong up challenged him to a dare where they were like, if you kiss ahn we will let you join our crew! which is why he (intentionally) kissed him :>

I actually like the adults x main characters scenes, it feels realistic to me?

I too liked the 'stalker' An and Sungmo scene and the one at home after, it finally feels like they're 'brothers', and gave more credibility to the whole backstory of An and Sungmo being there for each other? but I'm guessing Daebong, Jisoo (and Sungmo to a certain extent) were the ones that gradually changed An to be the person he is because they never gave up on him?

That ramen hair makes me think of Mark's own ramen hair. catastrophe hair

some really really great acting from jinyoung this week, some okay acting from yeeun! :') i honestly thought yeeun was a little weak this time; not sure why exactly but her emotional scenes weren't super convincing imo! especially at that part in episode nine (i think) after her argument with lee ahn where she just mopes around, gets her ankle checked out, etc. i'm not a big fan of the trying to convey sadness by constantly looking at the ground sort of acting. i really love and much prefer her in happier scenes. someone let her catch a break soon! i wanna see her smile again :') to go back to jinyoung, i thought he did pretty great this week! he does have a few weaknesses but in a sense he's sort of the opposite of yeeun where i find his emotional/sad acting really good. when he screams at jaein? his monologue, his crying? yes yes yes. although sometimes it still takes me out and i'm like wait this is jinyoung and i wanna see how got7 make fun of him for those scenes lmao

lee ahn with the baseball bat was h*t and i legit thought he was gonna beat up daebong's dad with it for a second I WISH lmao but also speaking of daebong, i'm just not sure what to think of his storyline with sohyeon. i'm not a fan of follow someone around until they give in storylines but i DO find them cute... idk idk lol :( he's really cute with her daughter too..............

sungmo is the WORST like what is he even doing? can he talk to someone? Ugh the 1st date was so cute, honestly idg why they were still so distant like girl u agreed to date this guy AND YOU'VE KISSED TWICE but touching his hand on a date is somehow a massive feat. i'm seriously ready to eat my words re: sungmo but right now, i really don't understand his plan! does he even have one? i'm not sure. all i want is for him to protect ahn but now that he's away and no one can get in touch with him, ahn, jaein and jisoo are all in danger which? i find so weird? i didn't think he was the type to just up and leave them? idk :o and is it still true that he can feel no empathy/has no feelings? i think in one episode they sort of tried to refute that, especially when lee ahn asked him about it but i'm honestly not sure! i think he's still not very good with emotions

lmao ahn hiding from jaein when they both came back to their old apartment, right? i thought that was a really good scene actually :') yeah he could have easily been found out by jaein but still, i liked the atmosphere of that whole sequence a lot. and it was a really good contrast to ahn's usual behavior where he would take any opportunity to approach jaein (like he always does, he is always the one who goes to see and visit her) and him being conflicted (and upset) for once, to the point where he does not want her to find him! :o

omg yeah, that's exactly what i mean! his memories with his mother (and the fact that he has certain emotions underlined in his dictionary) make it seems like he has a sort of illness or whatever but then ahn asks about it and even physically hurts him (lmfao that was so good) and sungmo is like, what are you talking about? i honestly don't know what to believe :o but maybe it really is just that he can feel something on a physical level but not like... on a mental level? idk if that makes sense or if that's even possible

I guess for Yeeun, because of her young age she probably doesn't have much to draw regarding the sadness part.
the monologue is so fanfiction to me that it kinda made it unintentionally hilarious.

oh for sure! aside from her own acting abilities, i guess a majority of it is also just her acting according to what their director and writer want! so even if she did not agree with the way she is supposed to behave in a scene or act out a certain emotion, it's not like she can /not/ do it. i do like her acting in general though :o

i would agree with you about the monologue, i usually feel awkward watching that sort of thing but it was a good scene for some intense emotional acting :') and jinyoung does it so well!

finally managed to catch up on it before the weekend. my first thought is that why is there a random shower/shirtless scene every week?!

I was pleasantly surprised the conflict/cliffhanger came in early, expected a typical kdrama wrap up in the last 3-4 episodes, so I'm glad they're spacing it out. I can't believe more than half the drama is gone, it felt like I just started

Ok I gotta get this off my chest

A couple of eps ago when they had the flashback to the past where Seungmo's dad/ the killer came to their apt and Seungmo said he had a plan and his mum had to follow...
I've been asuming that the killer killed those women and set the fire but what if it was Seungmo's plan? maybe not to kill those women but to set the fire, make it look like they had died and then get away. But he didn't plan for it to hurt anyone so that's why he saved Ahn...

But at the same time with the whole suitcase thing it was probs the killer who killed those women, made it look like one was his mum and then took her away in the suitcase.

And he and his mum must've exchanged rings when he was a kid bc he put a ring on when he went to go find her. So he knows that his mum was at the hanmin care hospice but knew that she wasn't the one bc the killer, killed them looking for her? Maybe she set the fire tho? Make it the same as the apt incident so SM would know??

Yeah idk either I guess if he does have alexithymia that would explain things but he obviously has emotions (whether he learned them or just imitates) so sometimes I'm like oh ok idm him and other times I definitely side eye him.
The whole thing with jaein was not a good look.

Also the fact that he's had Jisoo and Ahn around him his whole life but doesn't trust them enough to tell them anything is sad

Honestly I can't tell if they've got like a plan with all of this, or if these observations are just many small inconsistensies they just haven't thought of OR liberties they decided to take with the plot to fit their narrative lol. I said I don't watch kdramas but from what I've heard the quality of the script writing varies a lot, so I was afraid Psycomethric would have a dumb plot lol. But so far, despite many things I like to nitpick on, I've enjoyed the drama a lot!

(...is it also mainly bc Jinyoung is the lead? Maaaaybe)

Yeah I definitely started watching this because of Jinyoung but continued because of the mystery and rest of the cast. I'm so glad that it's genuinely interesting and that his acting is really good because I definitely wouldnt have bothered continuing otherwise. I don't think I love anyone that much 😂

I am finally caught up and this show is more interesting than I thought in the first few characters. I really disliked seungmo at the beginning, but now find him quite interesting. Seeing him with wet hair also helped, because normally he looks like a total creep, giving straight up right wing American nutjob vibes.

Lee Ahn begging him to shower or sleep together seemed really weird, I still can't figure out what that was about. Presumably it was about a need for affection, but it still seemed odd.

This is going to be one of those kdramas where crazy crazy shit happens and people just move right along, but I guess that's ok. It's always a trip to me when they can barely show kissing, but kidnap, torture, etc. are cool. And the usual overdramatic suffering angst is a bit earlier than usual, but hopefully once resolved we won't get another reason to keep them apart.

Could anyone tell what Seongmo emotions toward Ji An Lee Ahn was able to pick up from Seongmo's stuff?
