Paris is also a very snobby city (even to fellow countryman - pretty much everyone not living in Paris will tell you they hate parisians with a burning passion)
There's a lot of racism (like any capital I'd say). It's mostly directed at arabs and muslims (anyone telling you otherwise is a lying bastard and should not be trusted). Black people also have it hard.
The racism in France in general (or in europe from what I could see of other european countries) does not express itself like it would in the US (according to the news - so take that with a grain of salt) there is a lot of microagressions and race profiling that might not be as in your face, but it's there. It's rampant and it's getting stronger, especially with all the misinformation going on aroud immigration, unemployment and such.
Is it the worst european country I have been to? I would say no.
It's still bad. It's still a problem. And it's only getting worst.

Oh, yeah. Franco is still in Valle de los Caídos (https://www.google.com/search?q=valle+de+los+caidos&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjlvuvhxofhAhVPTBoKHdhbDiMQ_AUIDygC&biw=1366&bih=663) (Valley of the Fallen, I guess), wich is a monument (and catholic basilica) Franco ordered to build in honor of the people that fought in the Civil War. Most of them are buried there, it's a mass/common grave tbh. It has been petitioned for a long time that he is taken out of there, because it's basically a monument in his honor as it is right now. It's finally passed in parliment to move him out, but the right-wing parties and Franco's Foundation and other fascist associations are trying to stop it. Even the Vatican has asked (given permission since it's a basilica) the catholic authorities here to move him out, but they are refusing to do so. So it's a mess.

I hate the 'expat' thing in english, so many british here (more than 50% of the resident population where I live are inmigrants) that call themselves that and voted for Brexit because of those 'damn inmigrants'. That in spanish there's no difference between 'expat' and inmigrant, you ar all 'inmigrantes' here ('expatriado' exists but it is used for exiled people). They are so dumb tbh.
