BTOB’s Yook Sungjae Reportedly Steps Down From Upcoming tvN Drama

On March 5, a source from the broadcasting industry reported that BTOB’s Yook Sungjae would no longer be starring in the tvN drama “Man Who Bakes Bread” (literal translation).

The source stated, “It is true that Yook Sungjae’s casting has fallen through, but the production is going on as scheduled. They are currently in the middle of casting and the production staff of JTBC’s ‘SKY Castle‘ have also joined the crew.”

“Man Who Bakes Bread” is based on a webtoon and tells the story of a cat, who can transform into a human, and his owner. Yook Sungjae was cast as Hong Jo, the cat who becomes human and lives a double life in order to stay by his owner’s side.

Park Eun Bin and Seo Ji Hoon have also been reported to be in talks to star. “Man Who Bakes Bread” is written by Joo Hwa Mi (“Marriage, Not Dating,” “Introverted Boss”), directed by Lee Jong Jae (“100 Days My Prince”) and was scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2019.

maybe I should have said idol? none are exactly cats, but JB, Xiumin, one of the 17 kids, Seo Kan Joon, are all kind of feline looking at times. Or maybe it's just because they're cat ladies.

Bummed, I've enjoyed Sungjae acting in the past and was looking forward to this. I thought the three of them would be solid leads together. I love Park Eun Bin and Seo Ji Hoon, so hopefully whoever is recast in this role is someone I like as well.

So sad when I read about this but they said it was due to schedule conflicts. I thought this drama would be good for him as a lead. Now we have to wait again for actor Yook Sungjae.
