The documentary includes stories from China, India and SK. The SK segments go over how SK was used as a testing ground for the US and UN driven population control initiatives and also talks about how in modern SK after decades of being told abortion is a part of life to control population are now being prosecuted and how the rhetoric has changes completely. Also brings up the map the government released last year showing where women of marrying age live.

As soon as it started I cried. That father crying over pictures of his missing baby girl.

We talked about this recently in my Ecology class during a populations chapter. About how there are more men than women in many Asian countries and its leading to crimes.

I honestly don't think I can watch this. (I only type this comment because I spent 10 min trying to convince myself to press play while I have some time to kill.) Like I know it's just going to make me too depressed and angry. Yet I still spend so much fucking time arguing with fuckwits about sex-based oppression even being a THING.

The clip of the women coming out of the operating theatre and falling to the ground in pain was horrifying.

I work in a preschool and I’ve seen plenty of middle-aged men with young, Vietnamese wives and you just have to question how their relationship even came to be. And I also work with a lot of Mandarin teachers from
China who come here to prove to their relatives back home that they ‘made it’ in a developed country because they’re basically seen as second class citizens back home. It’s sickening and sad.

it sickens me how the US likes to meddle in other countries' affairs, the ripple effect this had is devastating. It's known that the more educated you are the less likely you would want children they could've went to these countries and just gave them education instead of running inhumane tests and experiments

One day I hope the U.S. learns to mind our own business, even though I know we won't anytime soon.

This is so upsetting. It's really illuminating how it demonstrates how men don't give a shit about children or "unborn infants" and couldn't care less about abortion from a so-called moral point of view, they will just go back and forth in what benefits them the most at any given time using women's lives as pawns.

I won't be able to watch this for a bit, but I look forward to seeing the perspective from multiple countries. I know a fair amount about the P.R.C., wrote a huge paper on it aeons ago and did research in country, so I look forward to learning about more countries.

two minutes is all I could take, no freaking way I can watch more of this. This is so horrible. Too horrible for words.
Anyway, honest question here: In the Western world there are apparently more women than men (who also get killed in accidents more etc), so maybe that has made men very arrogant, even to a point where they two-time women, because they feel they have many to choose from. What's the situation like in e.g. China, India, SK, shouldn't men be treating them like queens hoping they'd find a woman willing to marry them, as there are such fewer women there?

I read an article about rural men building new houses in hopes of attracting a wife. But then you also see examples in the news of women being kidnapped and forced to marry or made into sex slaves. In an ideal world less women would lead to higher status for women but sexism isn't going to end just because there are less women to abuse.
