I kinda agree. There’s some b-sides I like from Twice but a lot of it is filler, their title tracks are by far the best. With other groups I have side tracks I love as much or sometimes more than the title track

Also yea just the Korean main titles, their Japanese discography just ain’t for me

I really hope JYPE takes some notes from SNSD and focus on career progression, I could see them lasting as long and making them plenty more money if they play their cards right (and not follow their old ways with how they treat their older girl groups, but that’s a discussion for another day...)

I enjoyed 2018 quite a bit for Twice actually but even I’m aware that they could be hitting a plateau with fans and casual listeners

oh no! Twice ending like SNSD is the last thing I would ever want for them. Sure there's a lot of nostalgia around SNSD now that they're over but back when they were active things weren't as rosy, they got fed up of performing the same old hits and gave up on live performances, SM backstabbing Jessica killed their whole soshibond brand and they managed to last 10 years only for SM to pettily ruin their anniversary among contract negotiations. I don't want Twice to end having in-group factions/bizarre power play dynamics and ignoring each other in public.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment and you meant Twice "transitioning" to a mature image a la RDR, then yea I agree that'd be nice to see when they decide to. But I think they're fine as is right now. They manage to keep putting out fun music without being overly sexualized OR infantilized, which is valuable for me.
I do want to believe JYP Ent. learned what to do and what not to do and will avoid turning Twice into MissA 2.0

Oh yea, you’re right as in I meant I’d like them to pursue more mature songs as they’re getting older, the maknae will be 20 this year. I think it really helped SNSD, if they kept making songs a la Oh! and Gee when they were older, SNSD may have had a different projectory. I think the change in concept allowed SNSD to gain more female fans, and that’s where the moneys at. Like hearing the overly female chants to SNSD performing Holiday was amazing, because they were still loyal after so many years - male fans aren’t that supportive when girl groups aren’t youthful anymore. Twice has plenty of international female fans (like me lol) but when I hear the male fan chants Twice gets in Korea, idk it bums me out :/ that’s why I’d like them to take SNSD or APink route with large female fan bases

But oh yea I agree - I don’t want JYP following SNSD in that regard, the big three are all shit shows :( and yea the Miss A situation worries me, I’d like to think jype won’t fuck up again but idk. I think Miss A had a more female fanbase (I genuinely don’t know now) but it doesn’t matter when your company gives up on you...

They're just coming off a some break time and by the time they comeback, it'll have been about 6 months since their last proper Korean comeback, which is fitting. I only hope the comeback isn't right after their dome tour (the last stop is on April 6th I believe). Give it a couple weeks.

Anyways, as far as music goes, I still immensely enjoy What is Love? and Yes or Yes (I don't hate Dance The Night Away but don't go out of my way to listen to it either) and some of their 2018 bsides are among their best bsides period. However, it's clear that the girls themselves are itching to do something different and I hope jype has taken that into consideration.

I need a genuinely good song from them to get me interested again...I really like them as a group, they're sweet, hardworking, they really do well on stage but their songs last year were such a snoozefest. I don't even need them to change concepts, just give me more stuff that bops.

I like them and their music (or well, their title tracks ...) a lot but man it feels like they're constantly working. I guess it's better than being locked away in the basement but man one of these days one of them is gonna have a burnout! :(

I haven't liked any of Twice's spring releases. (Cheer Up, Knock Knock, What Is Love?)
So I'm not expecting to enjoy this, but I hope it's another successful time for them anyway.

I think we'll see a sub-unit release for them by the end of the year.

the last few Twice tracks (minus DTNA, don't fight me on that one lol XD) were just so lacking for me. i think the last comeback by them that i actually enjoyed was likey. my fave tracks by them are definitely likey, TT, LOA and DTNA. i doubt they're gonna do something mature but at least give me a solid bop that really goes hard.

They have been increasing the dance complexity since DTNA so I'm intrigued to see what the next song will be like. The YoY choreography was excellent, if they pull off something like the first minute of YoY (both the dancing and the high energy trance/house-ish vibes), I'll be happy.

i feel like APink have really shown that there is a solid market for more mature songs that are still kinda cute, and i really want twice to go in that direction because honestly, i had to look up what songs they released last year because nothing stood out. like, it's good that they're keeping to a similar sound that everyone knows is them, but at the same time there are ways to keep it interesting each time (like Dreamcatchers songs/concepts) and their songs have become forgettable imo.

Anyway, Heart Shaker was the last title I loved. DtNA & YoY had amazing choreos but I didn't like the songs at all so I couldn't enjoy the performances. Praying Twice will comeback with something I can enjoy 🙏
