Date: 2019-02-17 11:17 pm (UTC)This episode left me gutted. I knew the poets suicide was coming just from the tone of the episode, but god it still left me wrecked.
Did anyone else find it weird that they skated around calling it a suicide? I mean I know the underlying text pretty much made it clear but the avoidance to say it just felt like they half way went there with a problem a lot of writers and in general koreans face (untreated depression because of work related perceived failure that leads to suicide) but they stopped before delivering the full message. And the way they had such a heavy message then just skipped into the love triangle. It made me side eye a little.
I honestly hope they publish a completed works of that poet in memory of him and then start accepting poetry.
The club scene was amazing and I swear to god if the women in this drama do not end up being fiercely protective friends by the end of this I will flip a table. I love all the women.
That being said the romance triangle is killing me. I'm not sure if with episode 8's ending if it will end up making it better or worse. they better not try and write off Eun-ho's confession and Dan-i not being asleep as some dream logic "oh I didn't mean it tee-hee" bullshit. It happened. I'm not sure how to feel about them setting up Hae-rin to be with umbrella man. tbh I'd rather see the women running in a fierce pack all better off alone with hints of maybe Dan-i Eun-ho down the line. Or at least the other women killing it in life without men and going clubbing and being happy. Kinda sucks that they are liable to tie up everyone in a relationship.
And the way they have Eun-ho, Dan-i, and umbrella man has me side eyeing. I hope it stops because the guys are becoming unlikable and I'm side eyeing the writers on character flipping Dan-i. She said she didn't believe in fairy tales and now she's a giddy high school girl. bleh. This is starting to feel like someone took a good story and started writing fanfics to get there OTP together.

Date: 2019-02-18 04:56 am (UTC)I haven't watched episode 8 yet, but episode 7 was really sad. I really hope his works still end up getting published, he deserves at least that.
Something that I like about this drama is that every character is well-written,and I genuinely enjoy watching everyone's scenes regardless if they're the main character or not. The love line is also building really slow it feels like? Because normally by now I feel like there would be a confession scene in any other kdrama.
Side note, but I love the new co-workers relationship. They're extremely adorable together, I love their friendship and I love in general how all the workers are nice to one another. It's refreshing.
Side note x2. I love the second female lead, she's so adorable. I hope they don't turn her into a mean girl just for plot.

Date: 2019-02-20 03:19 pm (UTC)The suicide thing was weird because they never explicitly said that was what happened. It was played as if the poet could have died from poverty.
Eun-Ho looking longingly at Danyi makes my heart flutter.

Date: 2019-02-22 08:49 am (UTC)The suicide felt so weird. Especially as all they said was they found him face down. And I wish they would have had that flash back with who he was sooner in the episode because tbh I forgot who he was. Sometimes they skip around these minor characters and it's hard to keep track of.
