Wow Lisa’s accent is great and she sounds pretty fluent to me. To me a test of fluency is if the personality can come out in a different language. It’s nice this group has so many english speakers
well jennie and rose studied in New Zealand. I'm surprised with how much Jisoo's english has improved and Lisa's is really good! she honestly sounds like a native speaker.
I've only seen their vids and performances until this trip the States and have not been impressed... (and Jennie's terrible Solo english interviews where she looked like she was being held hostage)
but Rose is totally winning me over, she seems professional and fun. This pop quiz let them all shine, it was really cute. Poor Jisoo must be dying a little, but she still looked engaged.
i saw people nitpicking her eng by saying she still have mistakes for her grammar and some problems with her vocab, but i feel like she could express herself clearly and understand others so... and i thought her dad is white and speaks english, at least in some short videos i've seen, so idk, i think she should be pretty good.
That's a bit demanding, even native speakers have grammar and vocab problems sometimes! But yes she was speaking English with her dad in Blackpink House and seems to understand everything just fine when other members are speaking English, so I'm curious to know how well she speaks it since we don't get to hear her much. 2 out of 4 with one being a native is already quite a lot of English for a K-pop group so maybe they're trying to limit her to just Thai and Korean to make them seem extra international.
so maybe they're trying to limit her to just Thai and Korean to make them seem extra international hmmmmm i can't see that as a positive thing.
Maybe it's just confident thing with her. like in BP House when the cameras are not in her face and in this vid after awhile i think she speaks just fine. i mean, even jennie's not totally confident in GMA when she were asked initially. so yeah...
btw is jennie not considered native? how long did she spend in Aussie?
There's always been a bit of vibe with Lisa where she's not being used to her full potential so who knows what's going on there. It's weird!
And nope, Jennie just lived in New Zealand for a few years but she was mostly born and raised in Korea, so while she could be considered fluent she's not a native, unlike Rose who was born and raised in New Zealand and Australia and has English as a first language.
I'm not sure tbh. when she first debuted i kept asking omona if she's half, bc she kinda looks like half to me. but everyone said she's 100% thai. but in BP House, you can see his dad, and i think he's white. but i think people also said he's her step dad. idk just google it i guess.
