I'm intrigued as well. They are playing at Allstate Arena in Chicago where both BTS and Wanna One were scheduled....and where Wanna One got downgraded to Rosemont Theatre and STILL didn't sell out.
GD couldn't sell out the venues he performed at when he was touring here. Blackpink's recent concerts outside of Korea haven't been sell outs. Part of me wants them to do well, but the other part wants to stick it to YG (and I love me some YG groups - Winner was fantastic in LA and Dallas).
I think many of them being on a weds around finals for their target demographic might slow sales. That and ticket pricing. with winner, RV, Sunmi, now BP and the possibility of many others coming over...that’s asking a lot of money from a predominantly multi-fandom niche market.
There a bit of concern that if people just buy up all the tickets for all these groups because they’ve been so starved for Kpop or are afraid they’ll never come back these ticket prices won’t ever chance. They’re so overpriced rn for what they deliver.
It might actually be a wiser decision to just take part in an sm global package for Seoul or Tokyo than flying to a diff state when you factor in all the costs for both. At least then you’d get proper merch, full production, and a small vacation.
yea KCON's completely different. there are expectations about those shows that it'll be like a music show broadcast not a full concert. I love production almost more than the artists lol so it's always super disappointing seeing the difference. I'm going to RV because I missed OT5 shinee and I just don't want to miss the groups who have discographies I love but I'm ready to be annoyed at all the things we're missing staging wise.
Oh yeah, I'm okay with that lol. When I look at the shows some groups put on in Seoul or Tokyo I just know our tickets would be $1,000 if they tried to do that here.
Forgot about those two. I couldn’t remember any boy groups lol a first for me probably
I’m with you on priorities. I have a very short list of idols (it’s 4 now because of rv coming) I’ll buy my ticket in advance. if it’s anyone else I’m waiting til day of to see if I can afford it.
"Blackpink's recent concerts outside of Korea haven't been sell outs" well they did add another night and the demand was high for the tickets when they played here tho
Even though I won't be seeing them I'm annoyed that most of the dates are on a wednesday. I am really curious about how well they'll sell. I couldn't justify spending so much for a group that doesn't even have a full length album even if they are one of my faves but stans are dedicated.
on a fucking Wednesday? like ughhhh that's annoying at least give me a Sunday! I wanna go to LA or Fort Worth (family in Austin). Hopefully tickets aren't hella crazy. I'm not trying to pay 200 + for them. I like them but....
come on kpop god, we talked about this. no kpop concerts during the week! my work schedule is not capable of taking time off during the week this year.
same with yall, wonder how expensive these tickets will be.
I guess them not coming anywhere near the PNW means I don't have to worry about dropping the inevitable couple hundred bucks that their tickets are gonna go for :/ This tour will really gauge their fanbase though. Interested to see if these will sell out.
I went to their Jakarta concert, and while they add 1 concert day due to big interest, I must say that I'm dissapointed because they only perform for ~1hour and 45 minutes. Give me back half of my money. But that was the most live singing I've ever heard in a kpop concert tho, applause for them.
whaaaaat good thing i didnt go then (?) was hoping to get lower price from calo before going to ICE but obviously not possible since it was still in demand. if ICE wasnt too far away, i'd at least go to the venue, looking for cheaper tickets but yeah. oh well. hope they'll come here again (and with more songs!)
Damn, most dates fall on a Wednesday? And I was bitching about Atlanta’s date being on a Sunday. It’s also like 40-50 min outside of Atlanta proper, like jeez...I get that’s where the Korean population of “Atlanta” is but cmon...
I’m still going tho (assuming I can get tickets) LMAO
The ATL show is at Center Stage, it's in Midtown. (It's also at least 50% sold out now, so get your tix now if you plan to go! The venue posted on fb and I was like wow, I did not expect them to sell that fast)
Wait WHAT??? The poster said infinite energy center and I saw somewhere that tickets weren’t going on sale until Wednesday at 4pm est?? How did I miss this??
Edit: are you thinking about epik high? They’re performing at center stage and according to the center stage fb page their tickets went on sale this Friday. I checked the yg site and they are still showing blackpink at infinite energy center and tickets selling at the time I mentioned.
I will try my best to go. It depends on how expensive the tickets are of course but I really do want to support them. It’s easier for me to get time off from work so I’m not super upset about t being on a Wednesday lol.
what is powerhouses thing with firstontario? so weird. i saw BTS there and i liked how small it was for an arena since the closer show i tried to get tix to was newark.
it's not worth me driving 4 hours to newark for them, esp when i know the prices will be ridiculous. i wish they weren't such shitty performers
