i REALLY wish they reached out to mondo grosso and went a dance route instead of budget AKB. at LEAST reach out to kara's japanese producers, like damn.

in general this sound has more misses than hits for me, so this album is near unlistenable.

no, they are not "literally" AKB, they are IZ*ONE.

there's no reason why they can't try a different or more advanced sound, it's not like all their japanese stans are coming from AKB and even if they were, this whole album is still a boring mess.

if this is the best sound they could come up with for this group, then that's sad.

IZ*ONE is not AKB48. it's not like they're promoting in japan with only the japanese members. and yes, obviously the japanese members will return to AKB48 once IZ*ONE disbands, we are 3 groups in to produce 101, i dont need you to explain that to me.

as of right now they're promoting as IZ*ONE so that's who i'm seeing them as. excuse me for expecting something identifiable to them as a DIFFERENT GROUP that is clearly NOT AKB48. you're acting like me musically expecting BETTER is far fetched.

anyway, it's not that serious. i just think this debut is weak as hell given the landscape of japanese girl groups rn so it would've been nice to get something FRESH even within that tired ass AKB sound.

I love the title track. The other songs will have to grow on me, or not. Covers are nice.

Their first day sales was 193k, which plays them as the number 1 debut sales for kpop girl group. and in the top 5 for overall kpop first day sales.

hmmm after reading the comments here I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't think it's bad... but I used to be into jpop and probably got used to the sound. It sounds like a slightly updated version of akb/ perfume songs.

Also I can't believe they got so popular in Japan... I still think the Japanese girls got shafted in the competition, more of them should've made the final group but oh well at least the Japanese audience is welcoming. Maybe it's like a novelty thing for them too

Also just to comment definitely best Japanese pronunciation I've heard by a Korean group.
