Happy Friday! Thank you to everyone who voted for these Flashback Friday posts for the Best of Omona last week. I appreciate it so much! Every week I check out the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s see who was on top for the 4th week of January, 2014. 5 years now! The top three were posted before, so this time we’ll see some live stages. Everyone looks so good this week!


#3 TVXQ! “Something”
I remember the live stages of this song the most, because of the choreography with the microphones. Such impressive microphone cord choreography! I loved the styling this era so much! It’s definitely my most favorite looks from them. So handsome! Here’s their comeback stage on Music Core. Fan chants sound so good!

#2 Girls Day “Something”
Drop it low and bounce with it, ladies! Not my favorite from the group, but this did so well and became one of their most iconic songs. It’s still being covered now. I liked this hair on Hyeri a lot. They all look so pretty! I also love me a long skirt with a high slit, and this era delivered.

#1 Ailee “Singing Got Better”
I love this song so much! This is one of my favorite songs that she’s done, apparently I’m fan of Ailee produced by Wheesung. I think the chorus especially is so pretty. I’m a sucker for lush orchestrations. It’s just a really good song, and she sounds wonderful.

#7 Dal Shabet “B.B.B (Big Baby Baby)”
I totally remember this song and MV, but I totally forgot it was Dal Shabet wtf. I had always thought it was another girl group. I haven’t seen the MV since this came out. They all look so amazing! Doesn’t the girl at 1:17 look like Hong Jinyoung with that hair and makeup? It’s all I can see now lol.

#9 Rain “30 Sexy”
This was one of the lead singles off of his “Rain Effect” album, his first comeback in 4 years. I still hear “dirty” and not “30” lol. I like this video. There’s not a lot going on, but it does showcase him and the choreography. I don’t mind the song, I like it a lot better than the other single. But I also hear Lil Kim’s “How Many Licks?” in it too lol. Am I the only one?

BBB is ICONT-IC!! Truly a peak for them as a group

And Singing Got Better is one of my faves because the song actually goes to different places instead of just finding the one groove in the first verse/chorus and retreating so it can hit that same groove a second time, a bridge and the chorus again.

omg Something! I always thought that sitting on the toilet dance was kind of ridiculous lol but I do like the song and I love how every boy group covered it when it was popular. Can't believe it came out 5 years ago already

top 3 are defo bops. Something was the song that got me into Girls' Day, and even though the live performances for this song got a bit boring after a while, the song is great to listen to till this day

I remember the confusion when both Somethings were released. Those eras were glorious for both TVXQ and Girl's Day. Iconic I tell you! \o/

I like TVXQ Something but I think Spellbound was better. Like as soon as Spellbound came out I stopped listening to Something lol. I like Ten and Off-Road from the album, too.

I LOVED B.B.B when it came out (I still do). I went on a much-needed vacation about a week after it came out and listened to that song a lot during that trip, so I always associate B.B.B with that trip.

Same OP, I know people look down on OST-esque ballads but Singing Got Better is a genuinely great song to me! Ailee's live performances of it were always a delight.
