Grace interviews Brown Eyed Girls' Miryo

Both Grace and Miryo competed on Unpretty Rapstar 3, with Grace being eliminated early on and Miryo making the Quarterfinals. The title seems misleading, but this is more about Miryo being honest about her life moreso than spilling entertainment tea sorry folks.

In this interview, they start off talking about Miryo's struggles with dropping out of school to become a singer, much to her parents' dismay. She talks briefly about pursuing her advertising degree when she felt her singing career was cut short after the disbandment of Honey Family and her progression in the underground hip-hop scene that had led her to HF in the first place. Following that she was recruited into BEG and they discuss her feelings on waiting to debut for 1 1/2 years. They touch on the massive success of 'Abracadabra' and her choices on the sexy concept. Apparently she was the reason for those iconic pants! She goes on to express how looking back on her career with BEG, she was very greedy and ambitious to be seen and heard, and expressed how she regrets that today. Following up they touch on Upretty Rapstar and the controversial 2:1 rap battle between Miryo, Euna Kim, and Ha Jooyeon. She admits she did collaborate with Jooyeon for the battle, however she was unaware of how it would come off as unsportsmanlike having producers convince her that a 2v1 would be okay. Things start to get deep and sentimental at this point with Miryo reflecting on her life and how at 37 she has no idea what to do with her life. With her goal becoming a singer succeeded, she feels that she's just swimming in an ocean of uncertainty and is very unsure about what her future holds. I recommend at least watching this part (13:17) if you don't plan to watch the whole interview. To lighten it up after a heartfelt conversation they answer fan questions, idol dating, how the name 'Brown Eyed Girls' came to be, her first impressions of Grace, favorite Western artists, hardest part of the music industry, and more.

Gain's been doing much better, she is also releasing a solo this year. BEG had a live stream in Dec and everyone looked really good! Talked about releasing a new album, etc.

i really enjoyed this interview. and i understand where her need to stand out came from. i still remember the story she told about a guy she liked who said super cruel things to her about her looks so i'm sure it led to insecurity in herself but she became a kpop legend and who knows what he is doing. i'm glad that beg is having a comeback too. some female artists over 35 in kpop still promote but it's not enough
