omonatheydidFirst Friday of 2019! Happy New Year guys! Every week I check out the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more songs from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s see who was on top for the 1st Friday of January, 2011.
#3 Monday Kiz “Love and Memory”
This is their cover of g.o.d’s hit song from 1999. It’s a really good cover! It’s not completely identical to the original song, but still has the same feel to it. Just a little updated. And the vocals here are sooo much stronger. Still love me some Kim Tae Woo vocals tho lol. It feels like an end of the year, wintry song.
#2 Joo “Bad Guy”
Oh, it’s so good! I freaking love this so much, the MV and the song are perfect together! I wish it were longer. I wouldn’t mind if this was 11 minutes long like some old school SG Wannabe. Anyways, the MV features her former label mate, 2PM’s Changsung. Joo spend 9 years at JYP before moving on to Woollim in 2015.
#1 Secret “Shy Boy”
This time around I wanted to share a concert or recent performance video. So here’s the song at the group’s 1st Japan Tour in 2012. I didn’t like the original song, but I’m actually digging it in Japanese lol. I like how it sounds.

#6 GD&TOP featuring Park Bom “Oh Yeah”
How cute is Bommie?!? So cute! There was no Korean MV for this, but they did one for the Japanese release. So here is it in Japanese! I remember when some girls on the set leaked a few pictures from the filming. It was when that tattoo on GD’s shoulder was brand new and there wasn’t a clear view of it and everyone was like “wtf is that a fucking pizza tattoo?!?” lol.
#9 GD&TOP “Knock Out”
Oh OP, back to back GDTOP? Oh yes! I do it every year, and will continue to do so every time the GDTOP era comes around cause it’s my fav. Let me have this once a year treat. The original MV is gone, so here’s a live version of the song. They debuted the song at MAMA in Macau, and then followed it up a few days later with this stage at the 2010 YG Family concert.
