the song grew on me a lot. i still wish the ending was better but it's not as bad as i thought.

i'm rooting for jennie bc she seems like the new subject of international fans and their witch hunt. there's a line between constructive criticism and actual hate. people quickly forgot about ikon's homophobia yet jennie keeps getting hate for the smallest things just for quick rts

People are being truly hypocrites about this Jennie thing imo. Everyone was all about "wow kpop is fake, they are human, they shouldn't feel obligated for anything etc" and if the girl doesn't smile because she just doesn't feel like doing it, hell breaks loose. God forbid her for maybe having feelings or maybe not agreeing with YG and what he has in store for her. I mean, it would be with another agency, I would maybe think that something was off with her specifically but considering the agency she's in, I'm not *that* surprised it's all going sour.

And IA x10000000000000. People passed very quickly the mess with Ikon but are still sounding like a broken record about that girl.

I'm not even a fan tbh, I'm just pissed at how unfair this is and I was counting on the i-fans to keep an healthy balance but lol, I should have known better.

ia on the i-fans thing. I find it interesting how toxic the international kpop fanbase has become. I kind of feel like it has to do with the fact that there are so many solo group international fans now in comparison to years ago...I remember the international fanbase being super multifandom before and now everyone is at each other's throats.

I also think that all the really awful immature fans (usually rather young fans too) have a much larger grasp on social media now than they did before. Back when I was 13-15, social media was not used nearly to the same extent that it is now. There's 14 year olds running whole ass fanpages on ig with thousands of followers now and its crazy to me. I feel like all of these young fans who are still in the 'its cool to hate on girl groups' phase all have a platform to express that hate that people in that age group didnt before. :(

The hate she's getting is crazy. She has a lot to work on still like her lack of charisma, the perpetual blank look (thank god she's a lot more expressive now) while performing, but I've seen stan twt call her a "privileged rich bitch" and "spoiled brat princess" and it was just nasty.

This. I feel like I sound like a broken record in every Jennie post but the amount of hate she is getting is completely unfair and unwarranted. Its issues like this in which you see that kpop fans have not gotten better about hate towards female artists.

agreed, i like black pink a lot - i wouldn't call myself a BLINK but i do like them a lot and i always watch their performances
so keeping this in mind i'll say this; no she does not deserve the hate, BUT she does deserve the criticism
she totally lacks as an artist, she lacks in charisma, she lacks in stage presence, she lacks in dancing skills, she lacks when performing live
she just looks bored and absent
BUT! that can improve with practice and time
i feel like either way YG has pushed her too much or just doesn't like her work or whatever maybe she's throwing a tantrum who knows

either way, she wasn't and still isn't ready for a solo yet, she should first do well in a group, start again with the basics and build from that

but what i do see is that Jennie can truly shine when she does something she likes, for example on running man she was really shining brightly and she was super cute and fun and on her best behavior, which was also why she got invited back and she's now on YJS's other show, because she did really well for herself

I have to admit that after being a little iffy with this song when it came out, it definitely grew on me. I especially love the dance tbh. This dress is pretty but I kind of like her outfit in Music Core better.

I'm honestly glad she's a lot more expressive performing now. She's got a mad case of RBF that could work well in her favour as a performer because the most minimal effort to change her expressions (a little smirk or probably a lifted brow) would work wonders on the performance itself (much like Soyeon does in HANN or what Krystal used to do) and it would definitely help in upping her stage presence and charisma.

This on that comfortable stage outfit. She's wearing sneakers today - maybe that sorta helped her feel/look a little more at ease in this performance? Actually this could apply to the rest of BP. The girls always look/perform better when they're not trying to prevent an upskirt or fix their crop tops while on stage. #excusetheessay

Yeah, these shoes looked comfortable and that already seemed to make a difference. I know 99% of girlgroups are put in clothes that are too tight and too short, and with BlackPink YG seem so obsessed with making them 'high fashion' barely any of their clothes are actually functionally appropriate for dancing and performing.

Basically, I wish more gg would be allowed to dress like 4Minute a la Hate era :D.

Glad that she's looking much livelier on stage. Maybe those sneakers helped. The witchhunt/ hate on her since her predebut has been insane, to put it nicely. Honestly hope girl avoids twitter.

That said - I like that little interaction with Mino. #YGFamily is dead now but I just wished YG that hatass would stop coddling BP and let them work with/alongside the new gen of YGE artistes instead of just Teddy. The girls seem to actually get along well with the boys from IKON and Winner from some bts vids and that shortlived BP TV during their debut.

I don't like her, she is my least favorite in BP. I don't know why.... she just always seems disinterested, lethargic and just "over it". Seems almost snobbish. But I'm not a huge fan of BP so I'm not looking very deeply into the matter. But as a passer-by, she just seems very low energy and dispassionate. But she is talented, I like her voice.
