You are absolutely correct. I've had crushes that are kinda questionable, appearance wise, but their personality and the way they carry themselves made me like them as a whole.

I'll talk about one of my current crushes, and especially because he's from the kpop world. I became an EXO fan during The War comeback, because of Baekhyun and his mullet (idk, it did sth to me), who's objectively attractive. But then I listened to Forever and when Jongdae was singing, his "sarang" at like 1:18 made me go "Him. I stan him". It was a magical moment. I literally felt my heart skip a beat. Not that Jongdae is ugly, he's just not the typical standard of beauty. Idk, does that make sense?

To answer your question OP we don't put the music on in the supermarkets beginning with T until December 1st. We've had Christmas stock in since August though

It was my birthday last Sunday so I've had the week off. I've eaten a lot of cake and dim sum. I went to a Christmas fair and bought no presents and lots of stuff for me.

I finally got to see Within Temptation live after 16 years of stanning on Tuesday! They were the band that got me into music so I was really emotional, I cried for the opener (Raise Your Banner - they just released the lyric video go check it out!) and full out sobbed for Forgiven omg. THEY PLAYED THE PROMISE I'm still like. in disbelief. I'm SO HYPED for their new album it sounds like all the best of the old with all the best of the new with added wub. I'm so excited.

I'm listening to LM5. I'm blessed in that they always seem to release albums around my birthday lmao. I like (Jon of Arc)/love (WLM/Told You So) the music they've released so far so I'm excited to hear the whole album and I love it so far! I'm really glad that they've finally got chart success with a mature-sounding album (which I know is thanks to the Nicki feature) so I hope they're clever in choosing their next single so they can maintain that success. Not that I don't like their more upbeat stuff! I just don't like it when bands literally release the same stuff over and over again, so I wouldn't want them to get pigeonholed.

I'm listening to Someone Else's Baby a lot lately and I'm so excited for potential new Marina music in the next year.

my trip is in two weeks and i’m starting to feel really scared and anxious abt going to taiwan by myself. it’ll be my first solo trip. my chinese isn’t that good and i’ve never experienced an earthquake before so i’m just imagining a bunch of worst-case scenarios rn. i’m still excited to go but i have really bad anxiety and i don’t know if i’ll be able to handle when things go wrong on my own :( i know once i’m there things will be fine but it’s just so easy to worry abt all the potential disasters while i’m still at home

I've been a fan of BTS for almost a year and a half and I'm so sad and angry that after the shitty things they have said and done, I can't enjoy their music as much as before.
And I have become so critical of everything they do nowadays, like, I think it's not genuine. I felt nothing when they got awards during the Korean Culture Awards, Genie Awards, etc. I was really side-eyeing them during the whole UN thing.
On the one hand, I keep saying to myself "drop them", but on the other hand, it's so so difficult to do so.
Idk, I'm so bitter and torn. And this whole thing becomes even harder when they don't acknowledge their mistakes (because of their company, because they think they did nothing wrong, because of their fucking fans always babying them, idk???).

I listen to Christmas music at my desk because it calms me. I've always been envious of really festive people that actually get along with their families and have great Christmases but Christmas was always synonymous with struggling in my life... Maybe one day I'll have the cliche experience.

I saw Day6 last weekend! The show was great even though we ended up in the literal last row lol and I got my Tiffany ticket for March.

I've been a bit irritated with my best friend recently which sucks because I don't have many friends to begin with, I hate when time is wasted feeling bad but I made a joke and I guess she got hurt because it felt like I wasn't supporting her when I support her all the time! I'm someone that ALWAYS gets defaulted into the "listening" friend where I have to be positive and encouraging and other people get to wallow. I have problems too sometimes but I've worked really hard on myself to make sure I don't turn ever slip into an excuse to fall into a ditch. And even she admits she needs things to stress about so I'll try to be positive and she's like 'let me worry!' It's so backward.

And instead of being excited that I got my Tiffany ticket she was like it's funny because I never hear you talk about her... It's like well damn if I never say something aloud I guess it doesn't exist and I know she doesn't like Tiffany so why would I talk about her to her? I'm so excited to see a member of one of my favorite girl groups, which she's already seen SNSD. And she saw SHINee and rubs it in that I don't have a passport so I couldn't make it to any of their shows this year before Onew's enlistment. I feel like I should just say less in general, if eveything I say deserves a jab.

2. Your friend should listen to you too; maybe not 50%, but friendship should be balanced.
3. Friendships should not be competition and you should not be mocked for having missed out on things!

I'm probably come out too hard, but this reminded me of a friendship I had where not enough kindness existed. (though you should let her stress if she needs to, assuming it doesn't bring you down.)

okay so i've wanted a white christmas tree for a really long time. they're either really hard to find here or when you finally find one they're expensive af.
anyway yesterday i had a really bad day cuz of school. this thing happened and it wasn't my fault but my professor's but i'd still be the one who'd fail that class and i wouldn't be able to graduate. so i basically spent the morning crying.
My mom felt so bad for me that she spent hours looking for a white christmas tree and she actually found one and gave it to me. like that's so sweet

I had my first Raclette Party yesterday evening and it was amaaaazing. I love cheese so much haha

Asshole coworker baffled me so much that week.
First, Monday my boss wasn't at the office. Asshole sent her a message saying she was running late, and I guess she heard about my boss not being there, because she showed up at 2pm instead of 9am. Spent the whole afternoon talking with some other people in her office instead of working, and then left at 4.30pm instead of 5.30pm. I had no remorse reporting her to my boss lol. It goes against everything I am but I can't stand it anymore. She's been doing stuff like that since August, and then complains she has too much work to do and it's really pissing me off because there's so much to do (and so much I have to do because of her lack of effort).

Then Tuesday we had a team meeting. Starts well enough, but by the end of it, Asshole decided it was time to get angry I guess? She complained that we wouldn't tell her about the team's projects, that we didn't recognize all the work she's doing while pregnant, that the atmosphere among the team was bad, etc. She looked really angry and rudely told off the intern when the intern naively interrupted her to ask a question.
What triggered this? Jealousy
I work for a townhall and we have a newspaper. Three weeks ago I was interviewed to explain what the team was doing and they took my picture. Turns out my picture is on the cover and we have two full pages explaining our work haha. I'm not named, and the article talks about the team, but I'm still on picture visually representing us. Asshole is jealous and pissed off that she's not the one on picture
Why would the newspaper interview her though? she's barely doing any work. And why would we have talked about it with her? She's barely in her office (usally talking somewhere else and avoiding work) and she's rude. She acts like a spoiled princess, does whatever she feels fit her rank, and give off work to other persons around her without explaining (I have to train the intern to do asshole's work correctly...). It's infuriating.

Since Tuesday, she's back to her antics of not doing full hours + spending most of her days talking (except Fridays during which she surprisingly works - one day a week is better than none I guess lol) but now she's not saying hello or goodbye. It's so petty I can't. Today she walked pass my office and did this exagerated "I'm looking elsewhere!!!" posture so she wouldn't have to answer my "hello!". She's even older than me hahaha why is she acting like such a child
Everyone wants her gone, including the hierarchy now. I can't wait to get rid of her!!! January can't come soon enough lol

last night in the upper east Atlantic of the united states we had a nor'easter. i left work at 3:30pm and i got home at 9:30. it was a very productive commute. i spent the first 2 hours trying to get on one highway. The 3rd hour was spent freaking out because my windshield wipers got frozen with ice and i could see well and i could really only clean them up if i pulled over but at this point there wasnt any and i wasnt about to pull off in a high way full snow and other cars who probably had the same issue. i managed to pull over at a rest stop and got gas. literally running on 1/4 of a gal. and cleaned my wipers. the snow stopped at this point and it was good. hours 4-6 i was spent watching pride and prejudice because were going 10mph and there was nothing else to do to kill time.

so the week started fine just like every other week. work was going great and everything but then my boss decided to change our entire structure. at the beginning it seemed like a really good idea but my boss forgot to mention that my department would have to change offices. it's still in the same building but they literally put us in this dark and small office even though our department is the largest one. the fact that it's dark inside with small windows, so barely any sunlight, had made everything and everyone feeling down ugh. and then the worst thing of it all happend. my sibling who is suffering from (god knows what kind of) mental illness relapsed and it has been wearing me down. i've been through it a couple if times but each time seems like it's the first time again. i've been sleeping less cause idk what to expect when i wake up or where they will be. and i've been noticing that i've been feeling quite sad but even more so angry with them even though it's not actually them but the disease. idk anymore. does anyone have any advice on how to handle this situation cause idk anymore what to do... </lj-spoiler

I don't have any advice, small things like taking a step back are the only real things I do when I'm really stressed. I know it won't change anything but it does help when I honestly take a moment each day and literally just focus on breathing. Like deep breaths, it calms me down for at least a moment and honestly makes me feel better. It won't change anything, obviously, but taking small moments to yourself help you feel more in control, especially when your frustrations aren't caused by yourself. It obviously doesn't need to be breathing exercises or whatever. I know my buddy designed an app called Aloe, it sets up reminders for you to take mental breaks and you can control what it reminds you for and how often. It's handy for those difficult moments I find

Ask them for lunch or dinner or coffee. And if you can buy their work if you can or suggest them to someone/publicly share what they do.

Currently I"m freelance (actually unemployed but....) and I just want to say this is so thoughtful and nice of you.

I would like to add, that even though it's meant to be positive and supportive, if your friends haven't been getting as much work/business lately, please try and not say things like "I see so many job postings, are you looking into those?" and "You'll get work soon. I'm sure" It's something they are already stressing over and it's nice to just go out and catch up with people even if it's just an hour and a cup of coffee.

it's been a good week for me.

got my backstreet boys and dierks bentley tickets! - my friend from canada was very nice and shared her fan club presale code for backstreet. i got row 10 on the side of the stage!! so excited!

i got a promotion at work, along with a raise this week! wasn't expecting that, but it's very nice! getting rid of some duties (that i'm not really fond of anyways)

the bff and i are going to see BTS Burn The Stage tomorrow. - kinda excited, the showing was almost sold out on wednesday so we'll see how packed it is.
