I expected a bit more than something that looks like a CF and sounds like a minimalist Sunmi instrumental, all under 3 minutes, too. YG could have done so much more. At least she looks great despite the weird crying part.
I like the song and she looks so pretty! But this would have been a great BP comeback song. I can image the 3 other girls singing this song and it sounds even better.
Whoever said the teasers didn't feature the song because it probably wasn't done were right lol, all this budget on a boring track that isn't even 3:00 minutes long.

She doesn't have the voice to carry a standalone record. It sounds like one of their b-sides; I could practically tell which part would belong to each girl. It's not bad. Just not that great either.
Also, the track ends too abruptly. The final drop should have been extended another 4 or 8 bars, but that has been my complaint with the majority of BLACKPINK's stuff anyway.
It's a pretty MV. Song would probably grow on me like most YGE songs. But it's lacking that wow factor - love the girl but Jennie looks like she's tired in this though that's not really surprising.
Can't help but imagined if Rose or even Lisa had been given this track instead.
This MV is underwhelming, except for the last bit with the backup dancers. Had that level of effort been applied to the whole MV I may have liked this more. The song is good, better than the entire Square Up mini tbh.
It's a pretty MV, though I can't imagine Jennie has ever actually needed to go to a laundromat before. It does feel very fashion shoot as an MV. The storyline felt too forced, because they focused more on the pretty shots of Jennie, though those were better than the story, so it makes sense. I didn't like the last scene with the dancers. It was too sudden after her being alone. I think it would have been better to show her with a crew of friends living it up instead of a mass of backup dancers.
I liked the song, though I could do without the rap and breakdown parts.
That random crying scene towards the end was weird bc the MV didn't (or did a poor) attempt of any storyline outside of it. The dance parts were nice, otherwise a forgettable MV. She looks pretty but her in that low cut dress with her cleavage showing was really awk for me, that kind of look just doesn't suit her at all imo, maybe bc of her baby face... Song was nice.

the beginning where she's posing with the bear, juxtaposed to that scene of her undressing in the laundromat was... jarring? not my cup of tea. i felt like there was a big budget for the mv but they really didn't know what to do with it, i feel like they should have used the aesthetic of the ending for the whole thing, instead of paying an ugly model to play her 'love interest' for 1 second.

Jennie is really pretty and some of these shots are gorgeous but I'm not really feeling this. This would've been a great photoshoot but the visuals overwhelm the song while still not making a real impact? Idk.
Seconding the "big budget, no idea what to do with it" comment and sad that YG is now chasing trends years too late ("fashion" in front of council estates, using the same indie party venue Gucci used for a shoot two years ago) thinking it looks edgy when really it looks boring and dated. The country estate reminds me of Alexa Chung's brand debut video meets Lily Allen's The Fear - you can just see the mood board they created for this and their formulaic way of thinking, it's all style over substance.
with how short this is, when it definitely would have been much more satisfying as a longer song, I'm wondering if shorter songs make much of an impact on the streaming numbers when you have the song on repeat...
but like others have said, there's definitely something missing/disjointed that makes it not enough for me to listen again
I like the song allright and she looks like a doll. Now, the crying scene... was that necessary because it came out of nowhere and was so ridiculous, it took me out of the mv right away.
It had potential but it lacks the "IT" factor. If they would have focused less on fashion and more on being single/independent, it would have made a greater impact.
Also, Jennie's looks don't suit the bad bitch concept. I really wish YG would come up with a concept that fits BP bc the comparisons to GD or 2NE1 won't help them in the long run.
