Bokgo Princess Bae Seul Gi stars in International Independent film

Uljjang-turned-pop-singer Bae Seul-ki is making her Hollywood debut in the “global project” Finale. (It’s being called global because the money is coming from Hollywood, while the director and most of the acting talent hails from Europe.)

Bae flew to Germany in early December to finalize her contract and spent a week there, shooting early teaser segments for the film. Finale is described as taking after Tarantino’s Kill Bill genre (so, a pastiche of a pastiche?), while Bae’s role in the film is the “cold killer and daughter of a mafia boss”; the climax of the film apparently pits Italian and Korean and mafia against each other in a big action sequence.

Bae Seul-ki said of the experience:

“At first I felt a bit dazed too, but after going to Germany and shooting the teaser and preview, it’s starting to feel more real. Finale is shooting a different teaser preview for each main character, and I was one of the last. … When they showed my face splattered with blood using special effects, I got goosebumps, but working with the European staff was a fun experience. Right now, I’m busy studying acting and English. I want to get everything ready perfectly before we start production next May.”

Behind the camera is a new German director, Rouchdi Guedria. Co-stars include Jeanette Hain (The Young Victoria), Lorenzo Renzi (Gangs of New York), and Sergio Albelli (Miracle at St. Anna). The music director is another Korean, Jo Young-wook, who worked on Oldboy.

Finale is planning for a February 2010 release.

Aww! Well at least you breathed the same air as him? I've only met AAA and was mess since I was reading the last HP book and Dobby had just died. I'd been crying in line so my face was all red and splotchy!

I LOVE Kim Jongmin! Please tell me he was as nice as he is on tv! I will be honest, I am not surprised Junjin is an ass even if he he's my fave in Shinhwa.

I tell myself that! I was in a panel with this arms advisor person who advised on Battle Royale, I can do seven degrees of separation with Japanese celebs!

AAA is a Jpop Eurobeat group on Rhythm Zone, it's like a seven member group. They came to perform two years ago at the Otakon anime convention. So they had two concerts and two autograph sessions. Morning Musume is coming to Anime Expo in LA this summer and I'm trying to go!

Yay!!! I am so happy to know that, I totally formed a crush on him through watching Love Letter. Lol at Junjin in the back, ugh too bad he's an ass. I bet Minwoo would have been sweet, or any of the other boys! I would have been like too shy to ask for a picture of anyone. I would act like I'm taking a picture of the scenery and then catch them in it.

Well maybe, it's up in the air since I live on the East Coast. Stockholm is going to have Bueno, but they're three younger girl from C-ute and Berryz Koubou.

Ok well we live on the Peninsula in VA so my sister calculated all of this from here. We'd be going for two days since we only really want to see Morning Musume and go to the Dealer's room.

Lucky you! Well conventions are normally safe, I mean don't go to room parties, those can get wild. Every con I've been to has been safe, except for at Nekocon this year. Someone was stabbed at the hotel, but that was a huge situation not related to con specifically. The people had history and all. Anyways I hope you can convince your parents! Good luck with it!

It's ok! She's a singer who is on a lot of variety shows... or was, I haven't watched any since the changed the format of Xman. She was on Love Letter for almost every episode and hence her nickname Bokgo princess is from there, she was also in the DBSK Banjun drama Unforgettable Love.
