I have just come back from my honeymoon to find out Exo had their first win for Tempo: YAYYY. Also Kyungsoo finally got the appropriate amount of screen-time (i.e. a lot). I'm so happy!

I'm a new fan of theirs but I'm just so disheartened to see the lack of promo by SM. EXO said they wanted to do more promo and yet nada :/

I just don't know, just I don't get their logic. To me EXO is comparable to BTS rn and yet the opportunities for them are plentiful. Especially with KBS not having a proper title at first and etc. They would be huge if they were pushed more, and if the political situation wasn't bad rn I could see Lay taking over for them since he speaks English very well now!

the comeback was supposed to happen last month that's been soft confirmed a few times over now. for some reason it was moved, either the same thing as last year happened and the creative wasn't ready in time or songs weren't right. while exo are huge a lot of show schedules are booked with other artists (like monsta x and twice). could SME pull rank and get them in there? sure but they're not.

idt exo and bts are comparable rn because exo are at the point in their careers where enlistments are around the corner and members are exploring solo career paths/subunits. the amount of solo and cbx work they've done this year imo is a great indication to the longevity of their careers in the industry.

Baekhyun just confirmed in the fansign today that they're filming a new MV this week which means they've been prepping both comebacks simultaneously which means more promo is around the corner. did SME mess up scheduling here? most likely but we also don't know what happened behind the scenes to delay the comeback.

Oh damn, I heard about that there comeback was pushed a bit, so they missed a lot of the award show dates and whatnot. If there wasn't an issue right now with Mamas/SM it would've grand to see them this year.

I guess I meant more in terms of passionate/rabid fanbases, although this is just from judging social media lol. I mean Jin is also nearing Military enlistment as well, they also have a couple of guys who in 2 years or so will have to make that decision.

That's good to hear, I really hope they get to do more promo/stuff b/c honestly SM's output so far/lack of promo has been disappointing to many of their fans.

Xiu enlists next year. potentially in January since there's still no definitive translation/confirmation about the new enlistment ruling about whether it effects him (or Vixx N and many others). not exactly the same as 2 years from now, which is why it seems exo has different plans and marketing goals than other groups. exo's scheduling in general the past few years has been a bit all over the place due to balancing touring, solo work, subunits, and group releases. someone's always working on 3-4 projects during a comeback.

but like I said in another post if they drop the ball on the rest of the year with the whatever this next release is (repack or winter album) then it's a catastrophic fuck up and I'll picket outside SME with the rest (in spirit mostly lol). My expectations are more measured I think. They've made huge improvements to their marketing than even just the CBX release earlier this year.

there were so many expectations put onto this comeback from fans, people working on the record, and second hand translations of things the members said in passing...idk if it was ever going to be able to live up to those expectations.

I have a lot of thoughts on the matter, but at this point with SM its like talking to a wall lol.

I heard that he's doing his Phd so there might be a delay? Wishful thinking but 2 years is a long time in the music industry new bands come and go, but something tells me this band will do fine. They have a very dedicated fanbase, young and old judging by the twitter hashtag trending worldwide.

Ugh, waiting on that reality show that was promised. Showtime 2.0? I'm just glad they debuted so well esp. b/c they never promoted in the US/or barely any tbh lol. Hopefully they'll try to include their international fans in their next tour and whatnot.

they didn't come to NA last tour because SM prioritized CBX in japan and doing a japan tour just for them so who knows. they were playing less shows in bigger venues for elyxion which I think worked better for them as a whole they weren't as rundown.

the delay doesn't work anymore from the last I read about it, if you're summoned to go you go even if you're in school though the time is going to be shortened over the next few year. I think maknae line will only have to serve 18 months when they go. Exo will definitely be like suju and around forever basically, as long as they don't leave the agency, but it'll be a while before they perform again as 8 or 9. more subunits and solos are coming though so I'm excited for those next steps for them.

I don't doubt that we'll get season 2 of their ladder game series. hopefully it's more cutthroat than s1 because even the guys mentioned that the staff went rly easy on them.

Right, although with the tensions between Korea and Japan rn dunno it might not affect it but there's definitely a feeling that it might affect other Kpop artists. Dunno, just my two cents.

Yeah I think the band will only serve like 18 months and not the full two years, we shall see. I also heard religious reasons can be a factor too, so Suho who is a Buddhist his words maybe he can use that lol ;)

I kinda want them to leave SM and form their own unit like SJ did. They'll probably get to utilize more opportunities than with SM imo. Also I'm super impressed that for a group as long as them, that they are continuously improving upon themselves in record sales/music its crazy to think of.
