The Super Power References in Exo's Tempo MV

I've been working on summary post for Exo's lore and superpowers and it's getting to be way too all-encompassing so here's a smaller chunk. These corny mfs are at it again with the TEMPO MVs and I live for it.

KAI - TELEPORTATION

CHEN - THUNDER/LIGHTING
Overhead through the whole MV is a lightning storm. The first shot in the MV is of the storm and then Chen's opening line.



BAEKHYUN - LIGHT
Eclipses have been used a lot in relation to Baekhyun's power.





SEHUN - WIND
shows up as a fog around both him and a few other people, such as Kai who's in the same scene as him



XIUMIN - ICE & DO - EARTH/FORCE
the chess board is made of "ice-like pieces" and the flower beds are made with earth.




SUHO - WATER & CHANYEOL - FIRE
there's a lot of liquor in the bar and sometimes that's called firewater but I don't know if that's them being super detailed (which isn't completely out of the question considering the makeup detail from one of BBH's kokobop looks was inspired from an old but very specific description of a fable character) or a case of square peg round hole on this.



other than not he's holding a rubix cube and it glows that's all I got


LAY - HEALING
footage not found...currently.

There might be more if they continue the story in the repack since this still leaves the ending a bit open ended


which I don't think anyone has figured out who that is?

The cube shows up at the start too with the person on the motorcycle's keychain who is wearing the same gloves Kai wears

okay sorry to hijack your post but does anyone else feel like exo is just...not doing anything for this comeback? like okay we got the showcase but like...no radio shows? no full group variety shows? not even a vlive? some twitter stans are acting like we want them to be dead on their feet but like...i'm not going to be waking up to any new content at all this week so it's like...okay...i know baekhyun said they're filming another show but 1) i'll believe it when i see it and 2) it'll probably be something else we have to pay for to watch which limits the amount of fans who will be able to (legally lmao) watch it

You're right tho they haven't announced much. Maybe they're going to roll stuff out slowly promo wise for the next 8 weeks leading into the repack/xmas album? it's also possible they're keeping quiet so they don't have to confirm they're skipping everything except the gayos.

I think the person at the end is Kyungsoo, no one responded to my comment in the MV post but he's the only one who didn't glitch out for a second in the group shot with the motorcycles.
Buuuut it'll probably be Kai as he seems to be their main mv character a lot.

Also what is this about Baek's makeup in KKB??

It's possible it's Kyungsoo they left it so open. If it were chanyeol, jongdae or baekhyun people would have guessed already. they might have even used a stand in to make it even more mysterious.

I'll try and find the post about the make up. EDIT: I can't find it anymore but I'll keep looking!

I didn't pick up on any of these, but I barely pay attention to actual videos. I get some of them now that you point them out, but some I still don't really ... like DO & Xiumin. However, I'll keep it in mind when I rewatch the video.

Firewater seems like a stretch, since that is a pretty old colloquialism, but it's possible and would be cool. And the color of the liquor does have a hint of what firewater might look like, even though that's not the origin of the nickname.

For DO his power is shown through manipulating the earth and he's lying next to a flower bed while with xiumin the chess board is made of "ice cubes"

nah it's just that he's surrounded by flower beds/earth. they aren't rly using their powers in the MV but they're ambient/around them. I'll edit that into the post!

i love how with time they have embraced the superpowers concept and it has become something i expect too. i want them to always include the powers somehow bc it gives continuity to their work and cohesiveness.

the mv is not too intricate but some of the details you pointed out is what makes it special. i hope they continue the story in the repack and i also hope it explains the ending of the poder mv with baekhyun falling into the water, don't think i forgot about that @sm give me more comic content!!!

wow op i'm super duper looking forward to your exo lore/powers post!! as expected of my dumb ass self i didn't notice any of this but it's really very fascinating. i know some fans and even exo themselves find it a little embarrassing at times but i love how they keep the story and involvement of their super powers going through a lot of their releases!!

at first I find their superpower cringy thanks to the CGs in MAMA. but once their superpower displayed rather subtle in pathcode, I'm sold. kokobop is a trip but the concept itself is not cringy. Thanks OP for compiling, I miss this kind of discussion!
