Call me a cynic, but this really strikes me as "if you gain a lot of weight, we'll give you a show". Dana's been in the public eye since she was 15, she's now more than double that, and her weight has always been pretty stable.

Dana's always struck me as practical, so I could see her gaining a little weight from a breakup and deciding that it's fine because now she'll get to sing the matron/villain roles in musicals instead of always the heroine.

But I can't see her going on this show in that case. IDK she seems simultaneously super blase about it and playing it up in that clip and there's something off about it.

yeah, I think it's probably good to be skeptical. Let's just say if diet products placements happened to show up in this show, I would not be surprised. but again, I also think that after what must have been years of strict dieting, letting go could possibly have gone very far very quickly
