Yep, this comic is a disaster. I'm a lot more upset that they mocked Jonghyun than Shawols, because I'm just used to people mocking Shawols at this point.

I appreciate the effort of the petition, but I don't really expect SME to do anything, since they have taken the "let's not react" approach to things disrespecting Jonghyun since his death. (Actually, they're just not really acknowledging him at all recently.)

I have to accept that since people were making fun of him almost immediately after he died, there doesn't seem to be any kind of "grace period" and this is going to keep happening. They won't let it rest. It's really frustrating, though.

Other than the blatant disrespect and racism in this comic, this author chose a singer who was actually known for writing and producing music for himself, his group and for other artists like...if this idiot had done even the bare minimum amount of research then this comic wouldn’t even exist but he just had to create something scandalous.

The kpop industry ain’t shit but I’m tired of people who don’t know anything about it acting like these idols aren’t (or weren’t) kids with dreams and people with a LOT of talent and drive and the desire to sing, dance, produce music, etc. As soon as I saw this comic I immediately remembered the video of Jonghyun when he was just a fourteen year old kid saying that he wanted to be a singer.

It really seems like we can’t go a week without someone disrespecting Jonghyun but this is undoubtedly the worst of it. I’m exhausted at this point and I wish people wouldn’t give this shit attention but at the same time I want the people who do this to realize how fucking heartless they really are.

this is the third time that the "artist" has mocked jonghyun since december. the first time was within days of his passing so i'm not surprised anymore. upset? yeah. surprised? not in the slightest. being a shawol (let alone a blinger) is exhausting. a week doesn't go by where we don't have to fight to defend jonghyun, and most of us haven't even gotten a proper chance to cope because of it, tbh. sad considering it's almost been a year already.

in the end, nothing is going to be done. he'll just keep on doing what he's been doing. sm doesn't have the jurisdiction to sue the magazine, and they wouldn't do anything anyway, tbh. k-shawols have been reaching out to them to try to get them to protect his legacy and name for months to no result.
