Woman I think I will have the upside down walking scene forever lodged in my head when I listen to this record. I love how the walking bit turns into percussion and that bassline is utterly delicious. I was afraid I was going to dislike the "woman" sample, but it fits really well. My only complaint is that I wish the refrain was repeated one more time to bring it into the three minute mark. 5/5 Like It! This would have slotted nicely on the One Shot, Two Shot mini album. The "cause I like it, I like it!" refrain is a tad annoying, but I love it overall. 4/5 Irreversible I predicted this to be my favourite when we received the album teaser and that still stands. I love the chugging production. 5/5 Encounter Another one that would have fit on One Shot, Two Shot; I'm almost certain some of these were originally planned for it. Not horrible, just a bit too on trend. I really like the pre-chorus melody. 3.5/5 Little More This is really cute and funky, the chorus melody is great. 3.5/5 You and I Another record with that chugging production. I wanna say this is my second favourite. 5/5 If It's a nice piece of guitar driven pop, but it's not really my cup of tea. 3/5 No Limit Again with the similar sound of OSTS, this one is quite fun though. I love the "no, no, no limit oooo na na na na" and "tell me what you wanna do" bits. 4/5 Good Love Another funky record that's quite enjoyable. I could have done without the male vocals at the beginning. 3.5/5 I Want You Back This is a nice marriage of the tropical records and funky tracks that sprinkle the album. The refrain is a bit weak though. I feel like they would have done something different to the altered vocals echoing her. 3.5/5 Total 4/5
Really a light, fluffy album with the occasional bit of sass thrown in the mix. I can't wait for my physical copy to arrive, it looks lush.
OSTS is a flawless mini album; I still regularly listen to it. A lot of this album flows really well with "One Shot, Two Shot", "Everybody Knows", "Recollection" and "Always, All Ways", so it's nice to have almost an extension.
i love love love the album. BoA and her team are so good at choosing collections of songs that really work together and make a complete statement. It's such a smooth listen.
I know this album was quite a surprise and people outside of here think it's rushed or half assed but I don't feel that at all. It feels like they were ready and just pulled the trigger on it.
also seriously the only category at award shows this year that's going to be difficult to call is solo female because all the women have been delivering this year and I think they should all be giving awards.
fantastic!! My faves aside from the title are Like it and I want you back (which could've been a cute/flirty comeback song. I hope she does an mv for it or a special performance!)
