I made that eng/kor hybrid version of Regular



this is a throw away account but it shouldn't get pulled down on vimeo. not 100% sure of the korean lyrics making complete sense in context with the english ones since I'm not fluent enough, if any native speakers notice anything weird or have suggestions I can make changes.

Vocal line really didn't have to go that hard but I'm glad they did. Regular is literally the only songs Mark and Taeyong dominate other than My Van. My Taeil loving heart is happy today.

I knew kings of albums would come through. City 127, No Longer, and Fly Away With Me are the stand outs but almost all the tracks are 10/10. I wanted to like Comeback but it sounds like a Got 7 reject from the Fly mini . Also I know I trashed Regular but I finally listened to the English version and, dare I say, it kinda goes off? I mean it’s still a corny noisy mess but the lyrics are fun and make the song. The Korean version is still not the tea tho.

I didn't have great expectations after listening to the teasers, but I actually really like most of the songs. Still on the fence about Regular, but it might grow on me; got rid of No Longer since it's a boring run-of-the-mill ballad. I really love interludes in albums, and I particularly liked this one, with the mix of different languages and the sudden dramatic switch in music tones. Faves were City 127, Knock On and Fly Away With Me.

Pretty solid album. They keep on getting better stuff with each comeback while keeping their NCT sound, which is a good thing.

Didn't Mark recently finish with Dream promos? Boy must be running on sheer willpower at this point. :/

NCT keeps the tradition of solid albums. i was expecting no longer to be my fav but i wasn't expecting all that. not to be that kind of stan but i might have cried when yuta's vocals came in. nct vocal line is too powerful, i'm so blessed.
regular did grow so much on me these days and it fits so well on the album?

no longer, city 127, knock on and come back are ones i've been listen the most. i not a fan of my van but i really liked the trans of the lyrics.

most ofl the releases i liked this year (in general) were all pretty upbeat or at least had something that really caught my attention and got me excited about this song. this album just didn't really have any for me :/

ah that's fair! I think there's a lot of really great vocal colour on most of the tracks and it took a couple listened to warm up to a couple. maybe when you're more in the mood for a chiller album you'll come back to it and find you like more!!

city 127 is the kinda song i wanna wake up+get ready to. vocal line kept it really smooth and tight through the choruses which is nice bc most kpop vocalists would've gone with a lotta falsetto

regular is fun listenable and just a rly good track (eng lyrics included!!). it is a rap heavy track so i don't what choice they had but to stick mark and ty with the majority of the lines.

i don't care for edm but i like the deep house feel in replay. the changing dynamics between the diff voices keeps it from getting too annoying and repetitive. jungwoo sounds rly good in his verse

knock on!! all of nct jumped into the recording booth and served! i love the less-heard members harmonizing in the chorus (sounds mostly like johnny?). they have great harmonies in general but add a little to the low end and it's even better. also love how the songs starts off and ends w the background vocal riffing? esp at the end when they could've just cut the beat

they all sound good in no longer but i think it was lacking a heftier voice (and tbh this is where you can see a ""hole"" in their vocal line compared to, let's say, sj-kry). i love me some korean ballades but the songs kinda meanders without a someone to anchor it imo

interlude was so well done! i love that they incorporated that reverse t7s remix. just the way it ties in the diff members and into the rest of the album is really nice and it actually feels like there's substance to the track.
i don't care for narration but yuta has such a beautiful speaking voice (sad that he's probably narrated more than he's sung but. moving on.)

my van isn't what i would listen for from 127 but as a part of the album listening experience it's great. markyong's verses are solid. they do the whole english/korean hybrid thing very well here. "riiiding on that vaaan" is kinda hilarious lol

come back sounds better in korean than japanese imo. the choreo is clean as hell too, i love it
can't believe i'm saying this but their other jpn tracks off the chain ep should've been in this album. 100 and dreaming would've been so great and sm is so good at recycling tracks sooo ?? what gives?

i love fly away with me. the way they each sing "fly away with me baby" is so good. haech, taeil, and doyoung sound beautiful. again with the different uses of their voices! the layering!! AHH

run back 2 u is such a bop. very nct 127, sounds like smth that could've been on any of their past eps (makes sense, it was a predebut track). what a great ending to a great album. and taeil rapping!! king!!!

I'm sure we'll be seeing the other tracks on a repackage. SM would be stupid to waste them.


This album is so, so good. Vocal line really did that, I'm overwhelmed tbh. The only two things I'm not entirely here for are "No Longer" and the interlude. "No Longer" isn't necessarily horrible, but it's a bit vanilla on an otherwise interesting album – it needed an added later to give it a kick. The interlude too isn't bad, but I would have liked it more if it was just the production towards the end.

My two copies need to arrive asap. I hope I get Taeil. *crosses everything*

hmm. HM. i didn’t like this as much as i thought i would. replay, come back and fly away with me sound promising but there’s no b-side that hit me as an instant bop. i’ve grown to love regular now though, it’s the only real stand-out for me here. i like that it’s in middle-tempo and not as loud and obnoxious as some of nct’s other title tracks. a tasteful (if you ignore the lyrics) jam

No Longer is glorious!!! Everytime I get to "she no longer needs me" I get a stab at the heart. I hope they sing this live in radio promos or something. Love how Haechan just casually leaped over Jaehyun and grabbed the 3rd most lines in this song.

I love Jungwoo but Yuta's sub vocal position seems to be shafted even more now that Jungwoo has joined, poor dude. Taeil and Doyoung slay everywhere as usual.

faves so far are no longer, my van, run back 2 you (the memories!!!), come back, both regular versions (weirdly, the english version a bit more) and knock on. im tempted to say fly away with me too purely based on johnny getting singing lines. the interlude scared me at first ngl.

late for this post but i absolutely love all the songs in the mf album. im still sad that they didnt keep the buss it line in the kr version of regular. i don't get whats so embarrassing about the eng ver of regular i thought it was a fun song.
