“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is a mystery melodrama about Kim Moo Young, a dangerous murder suspect known as a “monster” (played by Seo In Guk), and Yoo Jin Gang, a woman with whom he shares similar emotional scars (played by Jung So Min). Although her brother Yoo Jin Gook (played by Park Sung Woong) is the detective facing off against Kim Moo Young, Yoo Jin Gang wants to become Kim Moo Young’s safe harbor and ends up falling in love with the murder suspect anyway.

Uhm Cho Rong (played by Kwon Soo Hyun), a younger colleague of Detective Yoo Jin Gook, is in love with Yoo Jin Gang, while Im Yoo Ri (played by Go Min Si) both loves and relies on Kim Moo Young. Baek Seung Ah (played by Seo Eun Soo) also has romantic feelings for Kim Moo Young, despite the fact that she is engaged to Jang Woo Sang (played by Do Sang Woo). However, the two main characters do not return any of these feelings.

The chart describes Tak So Jung (played by Jang Young Nam) as Yoo Jin Gook’s colleague, though she is also the detective’s closest friend. Additionally, the chart mysteriously notes that Jang Woo Sang has a sister named Jang Se Ran, though there is no photo or further information about the character.

Seo In Guk is such a good actor I sometimes forget that he's a singer first before an actor. And I'm excited for this. I enjoyed watching all of hus dramas.

i've been anticipating this for awhile!! i'm wondering how closely they will stick to the original (esp. the ending ;;). the last time i watched a kdrama remake where i'd seen the original was moon lovers and that was a travesty and a complete joke of an adaptation lmao. hopefully this will be better. i don't need a 100% faithful adaptation but just stay true to the tone and characters for the love of god.

the supporting actors are a bit of a question mark for me (i wasn't impressed by seo eun soo in duel, hopefully i'll like her more here) and go min si's character is actually my fave from the original but i'm not familiar with her. the main trio is so well cast tho and the PD is great, i'm hyped.
