Goo Hara, who was under suspicion of assaulting her boyfriend “A,” might be investigated for causing bodily harm instead.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, which is in charge of the case, reported that they are considering investigating Goo Hara for the suspicion of causing bodily injury. According to reports, the police made the decision after checking the condition of the boyfriend’s face at the time of attendance. “A” had released a three-week medical report saying Goo Hara scratched his face.

If she is charged with causing bodily injury and not assault, Goo Hara must be examined by the prosecution, and even if “A” declares that he intends to drop charges, she can still face criminal punishment. Since bodily injury is a crime that can still be punishable even if the victim states that they don’t want the perpetrator to be punished, this means that the case cannot be settled by withdrawing the suit.

The police will decide on a charge to apply to “A” by questioning the degree of the damage and the possibility of recovery for Goo Hara. The police also said they will summon the two again soon and plan to conduct a cross-examination as they have mixed statements.

it's not looking good for her right?

also, side note, but during Kara days i always thought she was really beautiful and she still is, but isn't she kind of average these days? i didn't see her for a long time and now recently i saw her on running man + now with this news and i keep wondering why i see her beauty quite differently?

Because kpop world makes everyone look seem extra amazingly beautfiul.
Male and female alike it's the kpop effect.

you mean you think it's the make-up and styling part?

Yes and no.
People are more attractive when they are doing something the viewer likes and or talented.
But yeah kpop is a visually driven industry, no different than others.

She is pretty but she looks dif too.

yes i get what you mean! though i don't really base someone's attractiveness on their talent
but i guess her stylist must've done a great job back then haha

oh the other hand, i also thought the same about nicole and to me, she's still just as beautiful
so maybe hara really did lose her touch a bit~

she's def. pretty but more average pretty to me

when idols are active they constantly get fillters or other small procedures done, plus they have makeup and styling people around them all the time.

you are absolutely right! and maybe she already bloomed in her early days and now it's wearing off idk
or maybe all her procedures are starting to wear off and she's become average again

Yup, I think Jessica is a good example of this. She still looks very pretty but so different now that she's no longer under SM even though you can't exactly pinpoint why, like more "normal"? It's like every little nook and cranny in their faces and bodies is perfectly rounded and symmetrical to make them look polished. It really makes you wonder just how much work goes into making idols look outerwordly good looking even aside from the obvious stuff we already take into account.

Another thing I noticed: a lot of the older gen idols look weird now because there doesn't seem to be a woman alive that gets to escape the straight brow trend. They used to just work with their natural shape but now they all get straight ones. It changes a unique face so much.

i don't really have this with Jessica to be honest, personally i still think she looks really really stunning and you can clearly tell she takes good care of herself and her outer appearance

lol @ the straight brow trend, you are SO right, some look really weird indeed - if you take notice it starts becoming hilarious

god it must be a hardship always getting fillers, lifts, implants etc. for just a few minutes of air time, with some girlgroups i notice how much more plastic they get each comeback (recently: oh my girl, YooA's lipfillers are too much and Arin's head is so tight she can barely make facial expressions)

true! i guess once the agency doesn't pay for it anymore idols can't be bothered, it's quite expensive and having to get everything re-done is a hardship, i can see why they wouldn't want it
also, i guess it starts to show how much work she got done, like it's wearing her face down kinda? if you know what i mean?

Yeah, and if I remember correctly, I think she mentioned on show once that she gets botox on a regular basis. I think also A Pink's Naeun does, too.

For me, I think I see her beauty differently because back then her face was really unique. There weren't a lot of girls who looked similar to her (at least in the bigger groups) and now there seem to be quite a lot with at least similar proportions and the round face? Idk, I can't really explain it well.

(also lmao just realized how late i am to this thread. my bad.)

(nm being late, it's totally fine!

you are right i think, i know what you mean
these days all these girls look exactly the same and very VERY plastic/fake and it gets worse every come back

it's sad how they all try to have the same face when i actually love a good unique face

yeah i totally agree. i think that's one of the main reasons i like momoland so much. like, i'm sure they've all had something done, but at the same time they're actually unique as well. especially girls like jooe and daisy, but all of them are unique in some way when compared to most other groups right now. the members of exid are all kind of unique as well, but i really can't think of any other girl groups where the members look different from the standard beauty trend.

looking at the above conversations i'm laughing so hard because they all have straight brows though. and it's funny because i play a lot of games and every time i get to make a female character i ALWAYS give them straight brows, and now i realize it's because of the kpop effect XD

after coming across that AJ post about how self defense is defined in sk... i expected this because that trashbag clearly planned a lot of things very well - he didn't just go to hospital because of scratches, he actually found a doc who agreed to hospitalize him for 3 weeks which is pretty much the exact time he needed to make a case strong enough to present her as assaulter.
what i find absolutely astonishing is that nobody is actually talking about HER injuries and that she was assaulted. nobody questions his medical reports but hers? ~how could she be walking and have no injuries on face if her injuries were so serious~
seeing victims of abuse being treated this way time after time leaves me hopeless and defeated. i just hope that hara is surrounded by supportive friends & family and is healing well.

asianjunkie explained it pretty well in his post:

"Under the law, people are allowed to use force to “prevent unjust infringement of one’s or another person’s legal interest,” as long as there are reasonable grounds for that act and the degree of force does not go beyond reasonable bounds. But the law, as precedents and police guidelines show, deems using weapons and inflicting injuries on the attacker that would take more than three weeks to recover from unreasonable ― a standard many find almost impossible to meet in reality."

Remember when everybody was making fun of the ex for going around to interviews with an IV and having to be admitted to the hospital for scratches? Well that stuff makes a lot more sense now. Credit to one Asian Junkie commenter who pointed it out in the midst of people making jokes about the ridiculousness of the picture, because that time being the cutoff to nix any self-defense justification seems to have played a key role. I thought they were just being pedantic by wanting that detail included, but seems like they were right.

so her ex knows exactly what he is doing. should be further proof that he is certified trash.

Thinking back on him with his IV makes me rage. The fact that even someone as famous and successful as Goo Hara can't defend herself from trash like this trying to frame her and ruin her career is unbelievable.

This is so infuriating, her ex really went the extra mile to really hurt her, what trash!! What a manipulative slimeball. The doctor who approved him being treated for 3 weeks for this crap should lose his license, I'm so mad.

I hope things work out for the better for Hara. This is just too much.
