Lee Jong Suk to star in his first romantic comedy

Lee Jong Suk has announced that he will be starring in a new tvN romantic comedy!

On September 28, the actor confirmed that he would be appearing in the upcoming drama “Romance Supplement” (working title), marking his first romantic comedy role since his debut eight years ago.

“Romance Supplement” will follow the lives of employees who work at a publishing company. Lee Jong Suk will be starring as Cha Eun Ho, a brilliant writer who is also the company’s youngest editor-in-chief.

The drama will be helmed by Lee Jung Hyo, the director behind OCN’s “Life on Mars” and tvN’s “The Good Wife,” and written by Jung Hyun Jung, the writer behind the “I Need Romance” series.

Lee Jong Suk remarked, “I’ve always been a fan of writer Jung Hyun Jung’s and director Lee Jung Hyo’s work, so I’m delighted to be able to work together with them.”

He added, “I’m also very excited about taking on the romantic comedy genre for the first time. Because [‘Romance Supplement’] has a very different texture from the dramas I’ve taken on in the past, I think that I’ll be able to show a new side of myself that is different from what I’ve shown up until now.”

“Romance Supplement” is currently expected to premiere sometime in the first half of next year.

Apparently Lee Na Young is playing his love interest but nothing has been confirmed about her from her side or the production team yet.

mte but I think they're already filming or at least already in production? The drama comes out first half of next year so he might already be enlisted when the drama airs. idk how it filming and production would work tho since he still has fanmeetings in Southeast Asia (I'm attending his fanmeeting here in Manila this November) throughout the end of the year as well.

uhu i think that's the case, too - but god he's stretching it isn't he? :/ personally, i think he should enlist already, the public's opinion on celebrities enlisting is already so poorly and with them stretching it (or just constantly being sick/getting special treatments)....... idk, i hope he knows what he's doing

Yeah, I think he's stretching it too. That's too much work to cram in a small amount of time, I'm pretty sure that's nowhere near healthy :/ Him and Onew are born in the same year tho and it looks like both of them are still waiting for their enlistment notices to arrive, just that LJS here is going to cram everything before it does. I just hope he stays in top shape after all that work. And thank you~ My younger sister was close to throwing a tantrum when the ticketing site crashed lmao thankfully they moved ticket-selling at a latter date and we've already got backup plans for that lol.
