Writer Oh Ji-Young has revealed the story behind writing the script for the upcoming MBC drama “Terius Behind Me.” According to the writer, So Ji-Sub was in from the beginning, even before she was done writing the synopsis.
Oh Ji-Young said, “I always imagined what it would be like to have a man, who is unrealistically charming and attractive, live next door. Just by looking at him, I would be able to find joy and meaning in life.”
She continued, “a mysterious man who appears out of the blue like a vitamin in daily lives of middle-aged women. That’s where the drama began. From that idea, I built on the foundation of the drama with a group of middle-aged women who watch him from his back, their apartments, mom cafes, group chat rooms, and finally, a national conspiracy.”
Then, she explained a little bit about her two main characters. Oh said, “Kim Bon, a black ops agent who chases after a huge national conspiracy, somewhat looks like a character who would only appear in movies. On the other hand, Go Ae-Rin is just a generic Korean middle-aged woman, who lives a normal and repetitive life. I chose these two characters because I wanted to maximize the fun and fantasy when two people from two completely different worlds cross paths.”
Furthermore, Oh Ji-Young revealed to have had So Ji-Sub in mind from the beginning. Oh said, “even before I was writing the synopsis for the drama, I was thinking about So Ji-Sub. I’m just thankful that he accepted to play in the role without a hesitation.”
Meanwhile, “Terius Behind Me” will premiere on September 27 at 10 PM, KST on MBC.
“I always imagined what it would be like to have a man, who is unrealistically charming and attractive, live next door.” You and me both, sis. *le sigh*
