Sunny leaves "Video Star" due to treatments for her knee

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny will be leaving the variety talk show “Video Star.”

On September 19, MBC every1 revealed, “Sunny has stepped down from her MC position on ‘Video Star’ due to health reasons. She stepped down due to treatments for her knee.”

When asked about her replacement, the show stated, “We have not decided anything yet.”

Sunny stepping in as the new MC after Jun Hyosung resigned in April, and maintained her MC position for around five months.

They don’t. They played limbo last ep, and had her for playing it because she’s the youngest there.

poor baby. must be pretty awful to not even do a low movement show like this. when they say treatments, I assume that she's probably going through more pain than usual because of the treatment, maybe there's surgery involved and she has to minimise all unnecessary movement that puts weight/stress on the knee.

She does physiotherapy (and probably takes heavy duty meds) for it, and it seemed to be going well for a while, but aspiration might be the solution now. There’s a high chance that the pain will not go away or even get worse afterwards though, it could end up killing her career. :/

honestly when I think about how this injury is gonna hurt her for the rest of her life, I remember her saying 'I'll destroy my body for the sake of my fans' or smth similar and I get so MAD that they've been taught this. I hope whatever treatment it is eases her pain a little, but I know from personal experience surgery can often be too little too late and not make any difference.

the first time I saw it, waaaaay back when, i thought she was just having an off day until after her and Seohyun's part in Girls Generation when she took too long to kneel down. at the time I thought it was a back injury bc I understood that pain myself, but when I heard it was a knee injury it made more sense with how she did the rest of the performance.

i hope this doesn’t kill her career. i’m shocked she waited this long. she could have attempted something when yuri was having ankle surgery.
