We already heard the Korean version in the MV teaser so I didn't bother to post it here, and I wish we heard more of the lyrics in the other versions than the same English phrase being there taking up most of the time (the English version already sounds pretty great ngl JJP's working it)...
but that Spanish version tho!

OP doesn't actually speak Spanish but I heard from some Spanish-speaking ahgases that their pronounciation is good

Date: 2018-09-15 08:27 pm (UTC)after listening english version you can tell whoever translated the song did it from korean to english and then from english to spanish

Date: 2018-09-15 07:50 pm (UTC)I actually think they are much more phonologically accurate in Spanish compared to English! Especially Yugyeom! His vocal tone fits Spanish a lot more. Jinyoung sounds gringo lol, but I’m not surprised because his English is /really/ good and it’s quite easy to fall in the trap of overpronouncing words in Spanish when you already know English (even heritage speakers have this problem). I’m amazed at Jaebum though, he really has a knack for language pronounciation because that last verse was so clear he sounds native (he even inhaled that “g” in mágico like those with Andean accents do lmao). How many languages does that make it? Vietnamese, Japanese, and Spanish? Idk about his Mandarin.
Can’t wait for the whole song!

Date: 2018-09-17 12:40 am (UTC)remember when nugus lunafly released a whole album totally spanish and actually learn to write in spanish with latino boyband reik?
even if that album floped hard and groups is basically over they set the bar kinda high for kpop idols singing original songs in spanish

Date: 2018-09-17 03:30 am (UTC)I commend them for learning the language and I’m sure Reik gave them pointers (were they involved with vocals at all? I swear I hear Jesus’ style in there...) but they aren’t really enunciating the words properly. It’s a different problem than the one Jinyoung is having in the teaser (overpronouncing words). They seem to be singing as if Spanish is rhymth-timed (like English) when it’s actually syllable-timed (Spanish). There are definitely parts that are amazing, especially in the second song when one of them goes “Y ahora escucho tu voz, en mi sueños” and in the fourth when they say “Cuando me tocas, me siento débil”, but that doesn’t discount the fact that they are slurring most of the lower note lyrics...
They did set the bar high when it comes to releasing an entire fucking mini in Spanish though. That takes real guts. But depending on how the rest of the Spanish version of Lullaby sounds (and how the other four members do), GOT7 could score much higher on phonology.
