
On September 10, actor Joo Ji-Hoon confirmed to star in the upcoming MBC drama “Item,” thus announcing his return to the small screen for the first time in three years.
Drama “Item” is a fantasy blockbuster that tells a story of two people exposing secrets of items with supernatural powers. It was originally a popular webtoon series of the same title on Kakao Page, and MBC has adapted it into its first 2019 Monday-Tuesday drama.
Jung Yi-Do, also known for his writings on OCN’s “Save Me” has taken total charge of writing the script for the upcoming drama. Furthermore, producer Kim Sung-Wook, who has previously showcased his ability to pay attention to details in drama “Goodbye Mr. Black,” confirmed to direct the drama.
Joo Ji-Hoon will take on the role of Kang Gon, the male lead character in the drama. In the drama, he is a righteous and passionate prosecutor who finds strength in his tender heart. Moreover, he ends up risking his everything to save his niece Da-In, who he cherishes more than his life, and goes deeper into uncovering the secrets of these items with supernatural powers.
Meanwhile, the actor has been receiving much love and praise from the public for his appearances in films “Along with the Gods: The Last 29 Days” and “The Spy Gone North” in the recent days. Moreover, he has another premiere ahead of him with upcoming film “Dark Figure of Crime” in which he flawlessly took on the role of a psycho murderer, Kang Tae-Oh.
Drama “Item” will premiere in January, 2018, following the end of “Bad Cops.”
