According to an article posted on Naver, Exo is rumoured to release both the regular album and repackage at the same time, with a full line up (whether that means 9 wasn't clear). There's been a few different translators who've said the same thing so at least the article is being translated correctly whether it's true or not is another thing.

some fans are upset but seeing what they did with Shinee's last comeback and what they could possibly be building to, concept wise, this couple potentially be really epic. at least we'd know how many versions will be out right away lol

back to back releases for 6 weeks (3 mini albums). and the album packaging across all three was wonderfully done.

editing to add: they've been doing a lot of different things with their BG releases the past couple years. like the empathy album and SJ doing a special edition release of Play before the repackage was even released.

the article tells me both the regular version and the repack would be released on the same day and that is total bullshit imo, but i'd be all for the regular and then the repack a couple of weeks later. they could do so much with it concept wise, dig deeper into the storyline they set up with power and the comic. i can already imagine a beautiful and epic 2 part short movie but sm will probably pull something dumb out of their asses lol

i'm not sure if lay will be in this comeback. he did dye his hair blond recently (as seen below) but october is coming up and that means his third solo album will probably drop soon, he always drops them around his birthday. apparently he already started filming music videos for that so the blonde hair might be for his solo stuff. i also can't see him promoting both releases at the same time, but netizens will 100% shit on him if he sits out another EXO promo bc of "chinese schedules" (aka his own album this time).

hmmm this seems very very unlikely to me. would sm really be willing to do without the additional sales from regular albums and and additional repack that are weeks or months apart? because i can't imagine a lof of fans buying both versions at the same time (unless they're rich or have saved up a lot) and that's just assuming it's really only two versions and not member versions or something as well lol nah i don't believe it! either way all i need is new music.............. please sm

Granted, no one validate the truth of this actually happening now but I do feel this is it. On that SM release schedule, Exo did appear only once and they do tend mostly follow through.

The only downside is that their shipping can get stupidly expensive, especially when you're ordering multiple items, but I've noticed that some sites like musicplaza are a bit more expensive (ie. I mean, I'm more than okay with them releasing both versions at the same time; it's more in line with western releases, with one being the standard and the other being the deluxe. That and it saves me from purchasing multiple copies. 🤷
