First a little bit of backstory: The duo CocoSori (last comeback Mi Amor) is a 2-year-old group under a small company. Both recently released solo singles. While Coco already had her solo debut in 2017, Sori only had her solo debut now.

Onto the story: On a recent Twitch stream, Coco was asked about groupmate Sori's solo debut. She says she asked the company for a CocoSori comeback, but it didn't happen. The company said to prepare for a solo album, so she did, emphasizing by herself with help from her friends. However, during that time they also prepared for Sori's solo debut, but actually helped her with it and kept it hidden from Coco. The reason why she hasn’t mentioned Sori's solo debut is because she feels like the company is showing favoritism.

Asianjunkie's comment: I would worry about how this might impact her standing with the company, but I’m not sure she cares all that much at this point since she also mentioned talking about getting out from her contract. Coco actually made her solo debut back in May of 2017 with “Wishy Washy“, and she also released “Sugar Cake” last month, but she sounded done with being an idol and I would expect her to just continue her pretty successful career as a personality (OP note: She has a YT channel and recently launched her Twitch) at this point.

To be fair, I do wonder if the company felt something like this was coming and that was part of their reasoning for their decision. More likely was they thought Sori had more potential as an idol after she made the Real Girls Project on ‘The Idolmaster Korea‘ and the final group on the girls side of ‘MIXNINE‘, whereas Coco only had a bit part in ‘The Idolmaster Korea’ and didn’t make it on ‘The Unit‘. Of course, it’s not a reason to treat her like shit, but I’m betting it definitely played a role from a corporate perspective.

While I’m realistic about the behind-the-scenes relationships of idols, I’m guessing Coco wouldn’t throw Sori under the bus unless there was some level of animosity between the two over this, so that’s kind of a shame. I never got the impression that they were necessarily close, but it did seem like they got on well before.

I feel like this won't bode well for her and she'll probably end up just being a youtuber that mentions her former idol life whenever she can.

I don't know if there really is favoritism but just saying whatever you want, publicly, about your company isn't the way to get back into their good graces (or have other companies rushing to work with you).

TBH, I'm not surprised their company put their efforts into Sori. Sori has busted her ass to leverage her small amount of Mixnine fame into an online following, she's always hustling and working hard. She's also arguably the more talented of the two. And if Coco's attitude issues are to be believed, well...

i feel bad for coco, it's obvious that sori's being promoted more but for the agency to not tell her about sori's solo? that's just unprofessional. sori's more popular, but that doesn't mean you're not even gonna try with coco. i thought they'd be at leeast friends.

i dont like edward avila too but i guess she needs to hangout with famous korean yt-ers to build a connection cause she's not dumb enough to stay a nugu forever.
