On the September 7 episode of MBN’s “Real Life Men and Women 2,” Han Eun Jung, Jang Do Yeon, Girls’ Generation’s Sunny, and Chungha gathered at a pension to have deep conversations while drinking cans of beer.

During the episode, Chungha stated, “I’ve noticed this while preparing for my album recently, but I get indigestion really easily. I feel pressured since I’m preparing for a solo album. With the burden that I have to do it all alone, I had a mental meltdown.

When asked when she felt the most tired, Sunny answered, “I don’t know about solitude or feeling lonely. I actually enjoy just lying around alone. It’s more tiring physically than mentally. My joints hurt because I’m using my body so much.”

In response to this, Han Eun Jung said, I’ve felt lonely while promoting in the entertainment industry. There are many people who love me, but there are also times where I think, ‘Why did I end up doing this?’ I always go drinking whenever I feel like that.”

as happy as i am about chungha's solo career, knowing how burdened she feels doing all these promotions on her own makes me wish that she had a group to promote w :-( she rly loved being in ioi. but i'm glad to see she has a lot of industry friends and she's still close w everyone in ioi and people from pd101 so she has a good support system

this is kinda off topic but I noticed that Sunny was exempt from any dance moves that had her bending down in the Lil Touch mv, and I think that fckn finally their choreographers aren't making her put pressure on her knee.

Was gonna write something similar. We haven't seen the full dance, but since they even had a bit that wasn't formation coordinated, I'm guessing her parts were arranged so there would be a minimun impact on her knees and ankles. I'm glad; I'd hate to see her miserable and in pain as she was a few years ago.

she's had that injury for so long, right? I remember seeing a 2008 gayo performance (kissing you remix) where she can barely move, grimaces every time she does, and can barely fake a smile for her own lines. plus the hoot dance version has her looking in pain too. can't believe it's taken 10 years for them to accommodate her

I noticed that too! I remember how miserable she looked during "Lionheart" promotions. Entertainment industry in Korea is truly ruthless toward it's artists.

You Think's choreo looked so painful for her

I didn't follow "You think" promo as closely as "Lionheart" but she talked about her knee before and it always breaked my heart the she see the need to compromise her health for "fans".

You Think had Sunny kneeling down and snapping up quite a few times for someone who has a knee injury

I watched it again to refresh my memory and I remember to think at that time that they were ass holes to her because the choreo could be more accommodating with frequent formation breakes.

her part in the second verse particularly annoyed me, she didn't have to kneel down in her own parts

Yes, and she must in really bad condition during that time because she start very openly talking about her knee pain.

I can imagine how hard it would be to be solo in this industry - you'd feel like any failure was down to you alone :/ Super pleased that Chungha is doing so well, though!

I love M&H for choosing to promote Chungha solo and for her solo releases to be insanely popular (which comes to a surprise for me, considering all the other ex-I.O.I acts) but she always says on interviews about feeling a little lonely. She really did like being in a group :/ Thankful she has tons of idol friends that she finds time to hang out with! Also so glad she has her crew that she's known for a long time backing her up every song. I especially loved when she went on Weekly Idol and she did 2x dance with her dance crew, they were adorable

I love that Sunny is able to be so open on variety shows, and discuss about her struggles. She has had a long and tiring career, and I am thankful she still wants to perform with soshi.

always here for more Chungha and other idol interactions too!
