Anyway, this bitch ass show has disappointed me twice in a row. Now Gaeun got the Jonghyun treatment, unlike him she doesn't have an active group. I'm hoping that she like the past two seasons her and Miyu will join a IBI/JBJ-esque group.

I don't like any of the members except Hyewon and Chayeon. Hitomi, Yabuki and Yuri are fine, too, but the rest... ughHHughhh. Fucking Mnet caped really hard for the Starship girls.

half of these girls are just wallflowers, what were they thinking? i'm happy sakura and her gf chaeyeon made it in a group together, but this was not the group i wanted nor anticipated lmao. i also can't see them being very versatile with the concepts bc most of them are either too young or too awkward to pull off anything strong, and then you have the best vocals being slightly better than average but the worst can't even carry a tune to save their lives. i only watched the performances but this makes me feel so wronged

i'm so glad i didn't follow this flop show. i only watched the final (tuned in before they announced 1st place) and was shocked to see that the first place only got around 330k votes... in comparison, somi got 850k and daniel over a million. even the last guy in wanna one got 790k votes.
their title song also didn't chart on gaon, and the ratings were the lowest out of the 3 seasons.

this season truly didn't live up to the previous two, and i assume the group won't become as big as I.O.I and wanna one.

i'm really mad lmao even though three of my faves made it in. but it's so obvious mnet rigged this. i can find no other explanation to miho and kaeun tanking. no way. kaeun was consistently in the top 12 even after one pick. you expect me to believe her fandom just gave up?

minju and hyewon are absolutely useless (hyewon better be thankful to minami while she's in the group). yena making it so high was also a bit odd since in the last rankings she was near the bottom but, although she annoys me, she's talented so i'm not mad. yuri being so high is also so weird but i do like her voice so i'm not mad. yujin lmfao, goodbye mnet must have been so happy. and ofc wonyoung was the center, i predicted from the start that a korean trainee would be first and ofc it has to be the youngest. for all that talk about gravure and lolita concepts koreans really put a 14 year old as the center. can't wait for their whatta man!

it doesn't really matter ultimately bc the votes were embarrassingly low and it's clear korea doesn't care. i don't even think they'll be a threat to g(idle) or loona for roty (except at mama). sakura's fandom might even boycott since i've heard rumors of fans doing that if she didn't get #1. the japanese trainees deserved so much better, i feel so bad for miho, miu and miyu. it's ridiculous that this group has as many japanese members as twice when this is supposed to be a global girl group. fuck this lmao. i'll still support bc of sakura, chaeyeon and nako but idk how i'll handle wonyoung, yujin and yena together

Who is going to be the main vocal ? Wanna One at least got Jaehwan and Sungwoon and some decent sub vocals, however this girl group? Yuri and Yabuki are going to die. Yabuki's range is also very limited to high pitched songs. None of the other girls can carry a tune except Chaeyeon and Eunbi.

Not only is Wonyoung a fetus, but she can’t even sing or dance that well; Bae Yoon Jung cracked down on her dancing more than once. Also, her being center limits the concepts they can do (that won’t come off creepy).

Kaeun got the JR treatment, and Chowon/Miyu got the Samuel treatment. I was happy that Chaeyeon made the cut.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who was shocked that Yuri suddenly jumped up to top 5...I don’t remember her being in the top 12 at all before that.

3. the tweets on twitter sharing screencaps of the 13-20 girls forming a group are all me tbh they look like a much better balanced group than this lineup

I thought chowon would be the chungha of this season, but then yuri went and surprised us all. Good for her though.

Shame for all the girls who didn't make it, they should debut as a separate group, they could hold their own.

I'm almost glad some didn't make it, because their talent would be wasted in whatever concept izone Will go with.

The one thing I liked about this season is seeing the Japanese contestants starting at the bottom but improve a lot through this competition. I hope they'll keep improving, it must have been very enriching experience for them.

Okay here's me trying to collect my thoughts:

1. Wtf is izone and i thought ioi and wanna one were weird names

2. Before #6 i was already thinking how eunbi would have a hard time with all those high notes tbh

3. Yuri has a nice tone and thank god she got in bc half these winners. Need work and more training.

4. For all of knetz complaints about wanting talent, they sure do like to vote for the extremely pretty ones whether they have talent or not

5. I had a feeling that both starship girls would get in, but mnet really didn't try to hide the rigging this season didn't they?

6. When wonyoung was announced as center i remembered that 'healthy ****' comment one of the s1 pds said and I'm horrified bc i looked at the age list and except for eunbi, no one else in this group is over 20 years old???

7. Even if wonyoung is the center, i feel kind of bad for her bc sakura is like. The face of pd48 bc of how popular she is. Even if wonyoung stands in the center, people will look for sakura. And in japan, same thing. There's going to be a lot of comparison ig.

8. Make ranks 13 to 20 a jbj or ibi you cowards!!!!

I'm sorry if this is long and rambly, but all in all, my wallet has been saved. I like eunbi, chaeyeon and yuri, with the lineup, the concepts they can actually pull off would be limited.

the results...this is why i was casually invested only. i watched episodes, sometimes skimmed, and didn't interact with fandom if i could. survival shows never go the way you want them to.

tbh my biggest disappointment was jurina leaving the show; i really wanted her in the group so after that happened, i knew i'd be just OKAY with the line-up regardless. plus knetz/the voters were likely going to be xenophobic and vote against japanese trainees. lmao @ only 3 japanese girls making it in. how is that a global group?? psh

second biggest disappointment was the name. IZONE?! it's sounds stupider than ioi and wannaone put together. i was hoping for 48 in the name but i guess they don't even deserve that since only 3 made it in.

with that said, i'm pretty fine with the line-up and their image will likely be ~cute and refreshing~ with high pitched songs...but i don't mind if the songs are bops! i know lots of ifans plan to become solo stans or w/e, but i want to follow the group overall. though my pre-debut biases are sakura, nako, and eunbi <3

p.s. i do hope trainees like miyu, miru, gaeun, and juri form subunits/spin-off groups. i'd follow them too.
p.s.2 and i image ifans having a new budding interest in 48G (i've been fan for years)

Real talk though they were never going to let her in; I kind of knew it from the beginning. They want a group of young girls to appeal to ahjussis and 'wotas' but she brought great press so they couldn't NOT include her.
Some knetz like to complain about 'flowers without scent' and yet...here we are.
Wonyoung is fine and has stage presence but just...too young. Gross, voters.
What are they going to do with Minju and Hyewon? They're worse than Sohye, Sohye at least had great stage energy.
At least underrated queen Chaewon got in and Lee Chaeyeon finally won a survival show. I look forward to her actual debut in a permanent group.

It will be interesting to see how they do. The lineup has been so volatile this season so I can imagine a lot of fans are pissed off, as expected, and the backlash this show has got added to the current saturation of top/mid tier girl groups in the market makes me think that unless they come out with an absolutely stellar song they will have no chance at the success of W1 and IOI.

i watched this live and my jaw just KEPT dropping with each person they announced and especially with what rank they were. yuri and yena that high???? i don't mind either in the group but that high...

korea really voted BOTH deadweights hyewon and minju into the group. i was hoping minju wouldn't make it since she's been dropping recently but ofc korea disappoints me.

the 4 candidates for 12th should have ALL made the final group, absolute bullshit. chaeyeon getting to debut is what she deserves but she should've bene way higher than 12.

both girls' seasons #1s have been the maknae of their group at ages 15 and 14. eunbi is the oldest at 1995 cuz they dropped miho and kaeun like a hot pocket for being too old.

oh my. well. i accidentally stopped keeping up with the show halfway through and now i don't know if i'll finish it or not.
the most disappointing thing to me is that there aren't more jpn girls in the lineup, i really wanted to see a 50/50 split or at least close to it.
judging by the hangul of the group name, it looks like it's supposed to be pronounced "eye's one" rather than "eye zone"? not expecting ifans to cotton on to that, though.
oh well. i don't want to be negative toward any of the girls who won, i'll keep an eye on their future activities and hopefully they'll do well. i still think wonyoung is too young but i do really like her. it's just such a damn shame about kaeun.
