I was pretty shocked when I heard they're gonna have another comeback this year, I wish SM would give them a couple of months off just so they can recover. They deserve it!

reveluvs have that selling power now. they're going to dominate shows if the rest of the acts aren't as big. i know people pretend she's not part of the group (for good reason) but seeing wendy that small again but looking alive and energetic is a bit of a releif. seems like she's put on muscle instead of crash dieting this time. red flavour stages were hard to watch last year because of that.

i'll prob never check for them again but Sorry For My English is hysterical and an ear worm they're stages are fun.

cube's styling team always has such a hard time mixing prints. princess yuqi has become my fave female rookie in a group of fave female rookies. she's adorable and her voice is much needed in this aegyo filled gg world.

I LOVE Yuqi, her voice is wonderful and she has great charisma (although tbh most of the girls in that group do, they're such excellent performers).

Sorry for my English is so much camp fun, I'm really enjoying the stages :D.

Also re: Wendy, it really is nice to see her look so happy. I worry about her anyway because I feel like her voice has lost some of its strength with her weight loss, but at least she seems to be in a good place.

i mean, those points are pure fandom actions: sales, streaming, youtube views , sns points etc ... basically all those things any big fandom can easily manage (with massive streaming and bulk buying) its not even about popular demand everbody knows music shows have super low ratings in korea and general audience dont care that much. only kpop fans care

those shows are still aring to give kpop fandoms another reason to compete and fight about lol

Yeah, I know music shows are really just fandom indulgence, but I think sometimes I get confused making these posts (and I was away for a mile, maybe that's why it now jumped out at me) to see some great songs not receive any attention, and other songs be super lauded. I guess fandom is everything.

I never really know how to respond to comments that talk about "omona" as if it's a solid entity rather than a collection of individuals, but I'll bite anyway.

I'm not downplaying their success, nor am I actually unhappy about it. RV are one of my top 3 favourite groups and I wish them all the success in the world, including with this song. But that doesn't mean that I (as an individual, not an omona representative) can't be confused about why this song in particular is doing so well, especially when I (again, just my opinion) think it's not half as good as all of their other releases, nor as good as some of the other songs being performed at the moment.

i don't care for the song either, that's not the point.

the song is doing great in korea, it didn't move from first place (even during fandom streaming hours) until last week and it only left top 3 yesterday with bts' cb, its their biggest digital release and not bc of fandom as someone else said, their fandom isn't big enough for that. its bc the korean gp like it, so how is it surprising that its winning awards in korean music shows? there's a lot of popular songs that i think are absolute garbage, but im not korean and im not gonna question why they like something, why they should like something else or why groups need to cater to the market they're part of.

and obviously omona isnt an entity, im not referring to every single person in this community, but it is a sentiment ive seen here over and over

You genuinely interpreted my comment as telling Koreans to like other music? I must have been really unclear in that case. I am not telling people they are wrong for liking this song, I am just trying to understand why it is popular. That does not mean that I am unhappy about it being popular, nor am I ignoring the fact that it's doing well on the charts.

The song is really popular and many people love it so it is topping all the charts. Not to mention their fanbase is stronger than any other artist promoting. Its called pop music for a reason, also music taste differs from person to person. I really like the song and the lyrics are motivating and perfect for the summer.
