MONSTA X THE CONNECT 2ND WORLD TOUR
IN MONTERREY, MEXICO
August 5th, 2018
(op is somewhere a few seats behind the boys with her friend)
I have videos of almost all the songs at the concert, missing a few of the first songs and the last one, If Only.
(don't listen on full volume, be careful, we scream a lot, but can still hear the music pretty good! lol)
(audio is a bit crooked, sorry)
Versace on the Floor
Fake Love + How Long
(op can't deal with wonho)
(what an energy, this song is bomb for these concerts)
(sooooo goood! lit af, we jumped a lot)
Hope you guys like the videos! If you don't wanna watch them all, just watch Fallin', it's so good.
Things that I LOVED about the concert (and a bit of the logistics):
↳ The songs are BOMB, as usual. They sing live most of the time (Unlike a group that rhrymes with XO, lol, ilu guys) Kihyun sings live 99% of the time. He's insanely good.
↳ If this was a "let's scream to see who's more popular" contest, #1 would be Jooheon followed by Hyungwon.
↳ The boys were more open this time, they were super talktative and learned lots of spanish phrases and words to communicate with us. I.M. even metioned that Mexico's abbreviation (MX) is the same as Monsta X's (MX) so Monsta X is Mexico and Mexico is Monsta X. What a precious kid. The fans were SO HYPER and LOUD and that made the boys HYPER and LOUD af. Ask your faves, they will tell you Mexico is their loudest concert ;).
↳ After they took the group picture, we all yelled "Monsta X, Monsta X like, hella loud, and Wonho was like "MONBEBE, MONBEBE", trying to be louder than us <3 ILYSM. (Here's clip that of that moment.)
↳ The boys look healthier (not Minhyuk, that poor guy looks so skinny), Kihyun looked AMAZING, Wonho looks bulkier (will never complain about that, he is HOT AF), Shownu has a tan, Blonde Jooheon is not my fave tho, IM looks super cute and Hyungwon looks healthier and tbh, amazing.
↳ The Hitouch was beautiful, Wonho is a god, what else is new? We held hands <3 I died. They were all like "HOLA HOLA HOLA HOLA HOLAAAAAA".
↳ The auditorium (Auditorio Pabellón M) is a newer venue, so it's amazing. The audio, the AC, the lights, the numbered seats, it was a pretty good venue. (I'm not a standing nor a crowd person so this was perfect).
Things I HATED about the event organization
(nothing about the boys, they are KINGS and deserve the love they've got around the globe).
↳ The concert was indeed a SOULD OUT one, but the venue wasn't fully open. We were dissapointed as the tickets were expensive (in fact, the most expensive tickets of the Latin American tour), VIP A, B or C didn't even guarantee the Hitouch, Group picture or signed poster, and we were placed in a raffle (I believe this happened in all Latin America dates) which was "random" and it sucked. Even if you paid the $4600 pesos (around $240 dls) for the VIP A, people still ended up getting nothing and that sucked big time. My total travel and concert expenses were $10,000 pesos (around $521 usd). I was flying from Cancun to Monterrey, and stayed at a hotel for 1 night. The hotel was on the same building as the venue, so that was super good.
↳ Ninshi, the event organizer and asian "language school", treated the korean fansite masters like shit too. Kihyun's fansite, Darling Romance's master being the most notorious one. She bought VIP tickets, won Hitouch but was told that it was only for "Mexican fans". There were literally students from this "language school" that were granted ALL OF THE BENEFITS even if they didn't have VIP tickets nor tickets AT ALL, which was SHIT.
↳ We weren't allowed to bring flags, lighsticks, anything. Until the day before, they allowed the lightsticks and, they day of the concert. Those things ended up being all allowed. *facepalm* That's why our picture had no flag :( The event organizers did us dirty.
Thank you for watching <3
OP's note English is not my first language, sorry about that lol.
I hope we have them in Mexico next year too, that would be the third in a row, and tbh, I just wanna see them again!. I felt that post-concert sadness and it was hard.
I'm so grateful, I've been a kpop fan since 2004 (thanks to BoA and TVXQ) and never in my life I imagined Kpop groups in Mexico. I've been to three concerts now (BB's MADE in 2015 and EXO's Exordium in 2017, both in mexico city) and it's truly an amazing experience. Will forever be sad that I never got to see Girls' Generation as 9, probably won't ever see TVXQ unless I travel to Japan (ha!). Monsta X is the third group I've stanned this hard (besides GG and TVXQ), it makes me happy that I got to see them perform and meet them.

Date: 2018-08-16 04:38 am (UTC)But it was truly a Jooheon and Hyungwon's fan gathering and those two knew that, Jooheon got his confidence boosted to another level and it showed up.

Date: 2018-08-16 06:56 am (UTC)I saw them back in june and it's silly but I miss them lmao I hope I can see them next year and get hitouch too (something I was never interested in but I gotta meet them even if it's just for a few seconds).
My concert was also just a hyungwon and jooheon fanmeeting lol I was surprised at jooheon since he's not the most popular member in korea but get it!!
And it seems like the organisation was a mess everywhere except the states and asia.

Date: 2018-08-16 03:55 pm (UTC)I feel the same way! I miss them so much, I mean, the whole thing lasted like 3 hours plus the 30 minute wait for the Hitouch, it all seemed to happen quickly, there are things I can't remember and ngl, it makes me a bit sad... You need the hitouch! It's fun and they are worth it, tbh.
Ikr? Jooheon did that. I will never forget his face when he introduced himself and everyone screamed their lungs out for like a minute, he couldn't believe it and got so red lmao what a humble kid.
Yeah, the organisation will always be a mess in south america and europe, sad.

Date: 2018-08-16 09:45 am (UTC)negative nancy!me is tired of following all this touring bcus the schedule is SO LONG but i’m glad a good majority of their fans get to see them and they put on a great show!! 💘 “lost in the dream” seems amazing live & i’d love to have a special clip up of it with tour footage, it’s the song i’m most sad abt not being able to see live 🤧 and also the “how long” stage, whewww

Date: 2018-08-16 04:01 pm (UTC)lmao ikr? they must be so tired, i hope they rest a lot for the next few days even tho they have a schedule but they indeed do their best on stage and they look so happy... "lost in the dream" is amazing live! i couldn't believe how amazing kihyun sounded (they all did, but this kid...), he's just unreal to me. and Wonho, wow. I hope you like the video I posted of that song :) the ment they did after that, kihyun did an acapella version of his high note and OMG... I'm gonna edit that and send it to you!
"how long" was on another level of crazy, I couldn't believe how good hyungwon looked, he put some weight on and he looked super gorgeous.

Date: 2018-08-16 01:54 pm (UTC)I'm sorry the concert was organized shittily (it's a dice roll you take when you go to pretty much any kpop concert unfortunately regardless of where you are) but I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway! I had a really fun time seeing them recently.

Date: 2018-08-16 04:09 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's sad. The organizers certainly only care about the money, it doesn't matter if the way they do it it's right. But like I said on an e-mail to them (complaining about all of this), "we didn't "chose" your services, we "chose" Monsta X, and you take advantage of that. You guys know it doesn't matter how shitty you are, it's the only way we'll ever see them and you will always treat us like shit. I hope Monsta X never finds out the shitty things you all did to us, because if they do, they will be pretty sad and feel shitty, and we don't want them to feel like us, we want them to be happy and enjoy the time they have with us, who really care about them."
lmao i went a bit off but I was feeling it right after the concert. Glad you also had fun! <3 Thanks for taking the time to read all of this!

Date: 2018-08-16 03:26 pm (UTC)Since I was a kid, I've been traveling overseas to see my faves, cause no one comes to my country. So I always end up spending +1,000 USD with every kpop group I've seen which are like 3 cause I ain't got money to go see everyone who's coming, sadly. I wanted to go to Monsta X's concert every time they went to Argentina but every time I'm poor lol traveling to other countries is too damn epensive even if they are right next to ya.

Date: 2018-08-16 04:13 pm (UTC)It happened to me the time TVXQ went to Chile, I was trying to make it happen because I knew they will never come, but I was in college, paying my debts, helping my mom, it wasn't meant to be :( I truly believe the only way of seeing them is in Japan...
Better save your money for the faves! I'm happy they haven't bring many of my faves or else I would be in debt for the rest of my life lmao. I'm sure you will go next time <3 ikr? going out of the country is so expensive :(
