Interesting. While we're at it, didnt the winner of this program means that the contestant doesnt have uniqueness in his/her voice? Which is sad imo because it means their voice is just like common singer, no one would recognize the them if they didnt saw the his/her face.
A lot of the people they don't guess are the ones that don't usually (or ever) sing (like actors) or people that have not been in the public eye for a while. There's also idols that don't get to sing much and here they get to sing a full song and a different style than they are used to. And a lot of people that have very unique voices or 'ticks' try to hide them in the show, like they'll sing differently than how they usually do. But most of the time you can tell who it is. Plus the winner is not the one they are most clueless about, like not being recognized plays no part in deciding the winner. The winner is the one who performed the best wether they know who it is or not.
Well, just because they win does not mean that the judges (or the audience) doesn't suspect who the masked singer is. The audience is supposed to vote for whose voice they likes best, and the most liked singer gets to move on to the next episode. So, a singer with a unique voice can go on for several episodes as long as it's a voice the audience likes the most - recognizable or not.
I think I remember that a panelist recognized Sohyang's voice from the get-go, and she won 6 times :)
