I really really really enjoyed junhao conversation about switching partners up next time. When jun chose minghao last episode I was disappointed because while the other teams were getting creative with their song choices and performance - junhao would literally be doing something they have in their repertoire and I felt it defeated the whole collaboration point of this show - which is why I was glad jun brought it up here!! I mean just from jony j and gong ge and longfei/Eric’s performances they had to really compromise (more so in the latter) to find something that worked for them but it turned out amazingly! I really hope for the same to happen in the next mission to jun and minghao. There are so many possibilities for them to branch out!

Also - it surprised me that jun was the one that brought it up - I always thought minghao would be the one to want to separate (since he’s made it clear he wants to work with jony j since day 1) but jun I thogiht would be fine sticking with what he knew. Seeing him be the one to say “let’s not work together next tome” really surprised me and led me to respect him more as an artist too — I feel like even thought they are in a self producing group the two of them rarely get chances to show off their own artistry (given that woozi is known as their producer and it’s never jun or hao separately but rather perf team as a whole known for choreo).

The same goes for yanan too - he’s never really been seen as the one who helps produce pentagons music - and even in pentagon maker most of the missions were arranged by others in his team - so I’m glad we have a chance to see him speak up for what type of music and performance he wants to do

Tl;dr this show gives me a lot of feelings because I love seeing the behind the scenes of performance making without the added pressure of eliminations (the elimination thing everyone keeps spreading is just a rumor - most of the voting is just for benefits in the show). Reasons why seventeen project was the best debut show out of all.

eyyy i finally finished watching this episode! still really really really enjoying watching this show. i quite liked watched jony j and gong ge together if only because their "artistry" doesn't come off as snobbish or high-handed. they're just clear on what their aim and vision is, and they know it's different from other's. I also really appreciated seeing eric and longfei have a hard time deciding what to do, and everything they said about compromise really resonated. i haven't heard the original version of 'i'm ok' but i liked their performance.

echoing the above comment on jun and minghao. the preview from ep 2 made it seem like minghao approached jony j on his own, but i'm glad they sat down and talked about it and came to the same conclusion together. that's what a healthy relationship looks like. i also really appreciated what minghao said about this show being a great platform to showcase their skills, because otherwise they'd just be performing remixes of seventeen songs. i'm also glad that zhennan and samuel seem to be getting alone, zhennan's english is so good! and i hope yanan and jiacheng have some more confidence because they definitely have stuff to bring to the table too.
