TV Chosun may be gearing up for a new dating reality show.

According to an industry source, TV Chosun is preparing to launch an observational dating reality show for celebrities and non-celebrities. The show would follow a celebrity and a non-celebrity that is close to his or her ideal type as they spend 100 days together. If the show airs, it will be TV Chosun’s second variety show after “Wife’s Taste.”

Though dating reality shows are currently quite popular, this show will be add a new twist to the current line-up of dating programs, as it will be a mix of celebrities and non-celebrities. The program is reportedly slated to air in late August.

I'd be wayyyyyy too afraid of the online backlash. I wonder how close the non-celeb is really going to be to the celeb's "ideal type"... I'd hate for people to be put in situations where it's like the show is playing them for laughs? I'm not sure how to describe it, but I just can see a lot of things going potentially wrong... so I just hope this is done right!

I'd do it if I could do it as like friends hanging out rather than dating. Like I'd love to hang out with Amber for a day, cause she seems like she'd be a lot of fun to be around.

That being said, the amount of backlash the participants are going to receive, someone is clearly not thinking this concept through. Especially if they end up with a member of EXO, BTS, Monsta X, basically any group that's known to have obsessed/aggressive fans. Not only that, but I'm sure the actual idols would get negative reactions as well, because it messes with the whole 'must be pure and single for the fans' thing.

unlikely, I cannot with cameras all around me and I wouldn't be able to feel/act normal? the idea sounds good for ratings, but put in practice it is very risky and stressful so it would definitely be hard to pull off. especially with the idea of sasaengs

The length is a lot. That's the main concern for me because idols have done the one off date thing where it's more just taking a fan to dinner but you know the delusionals and the hardcores are going to lose it for a month long "relationship"

MTE, it's giving fodder for their fantasy, same as EXO's webdrama with a stalker fan plotline.

I actually don't think there will be that much backlash if they pair male idols up with aspiring/unknown actresses who are beautiful and charismatic... then fans can project themselves in that role and not feel that the girl is "not good enough" for oppa etc.

For female idols, it feels a bit weirder but as long as they find someone nonthreatening & funny it'll probably work. I think it's pretty much about the casting.
