in case anyone is looking for more insight and explination about how song camps work for kpop I pulled a bunch of articles and vids.

KPOP song camps work similar to the ones in country and pop music and with the frequency kpop agencies put out music these camps happen all year long and usually within the span of a week a writer can write for multiple agencies, unless contracted specifically to one. KPOP idols who write also particiapte in these camps too by bringing their own songs and work to workshop with other writers - like in the Luna video linked below.

some of these might have been posts of their own but I figured compiling them would be easier than searching back for individual posts.

That Bad Boy video was awesome. I'm going to listen to the song in a completely different way now. Interesting that they don't think it would play well in the U.S., though...

Luna was so cute with her English lesson.

lol I'm glad they asked him about Move disease.

Thanks for this post, OP! I know it took a lot of work.

the concept of writing camps has always been interesting to me. i know that the rare sm artist will attend the ones that sm puts together. luna, obviously, and amber as well. jonghyun also frequented them. i remember he mentioned once that he wrote dress up there, along with a few other tracks from she is, and he wrote already at one as well before he finished it up with teddy riley and gave it to taemin.

If he wrote Dress Up at a writing camp then everyone should go to writing camps.

i haven't watched this one yet but react to the k (https://youtu.be/ZivFny2mU-Y) had a panel at kcon ny with andreas oberg & jim wolf. i heard it was really good. a lot of these vids are waaay shorter tho & probably more easily digestible

a lot of the song writing camps i hear about are via charli xcx interviews, tho, so i'm really looking forward to watching a few of these :3 thanks for the roundup, op!

If you're okay with that then yes please! I remember you saying you work with artists outside of K-pop too so I'm very interested.

I'm really liking Breakers but it helps that I already knew/was a fan of several artists on the show. It's MNET so it's almost like Show Me the Money but for songwriting
