When Mi So decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue. After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can it now develop in something more?

Date: 2018-07-23 06:30 am (UTC)This week, while cute, proves that there's just not enough story for 16 episodes. While I'm glad the brother/kidnapping stuff wasn't dragged out even more (sorry for getting 3 min of screentime this week, second lead Lee Tae Hwan), it kind of makes it feel directionless (until they brought up her quitting at the end, which I have issues with that I will get to later). The leads do have great chemistry, though, and I like them as a couple.
I hate drama timelines so much. I was trying to figure out where we were in that month's notice she gave, then they pulled that 5 day business trip and said she had a week left. So you're telling me the first 12 episodes happened in 2 weeks? Hate it. Nobody's feelings are changing that fast and that much in 2 weeks.
I really love his friend, Kang Ki Young never disappoints. He's hilarious and he's really a better friend that Young Joon deserves. I have no idea why he keeps his secretary around except for her keeping him in the gossip loop lol. I actually am really enjoying the coworkers and their interactions together. Ji Ah and Ms Bong standing up for Mi So was wonderful and I was happy for that scene. Driver Yang and Ms Bong's relationship is adorable, I love him so much. She's annoying, but him liking her has made me like her more ha. I'm actually okay with a One Suit Guy/replacement Secretary Kim pairing now, I didn't think the show could sell me on that but now I'm rooting for them. I appreciated them explaining his annoying frugalness in a way that made sense and made me empathize (because I was getting real tired of him).
When her dad showed up, my friend I'm watching with and I just burst out laughing at his hair. A lot of people are saying they really like him, but I'm not a fan. Sure, make your daughter pay back your debt while you're 60 years old and still trying to be a rockstar. Bye. I did laugh when he was like "duh, I obviously don't really object to you dating the rich guy" but I would be fine if he wasn't around.
I was thinking Young Joon was being totally pushy and crossing some lines, so I'm glad they actually acknowledged that in the drama. I do like that they communicate well and talk things out (obviously because of 9 years working closely together), it's really refreshing in a drama. I do think that there needs to be some work/personal life boundaries because right now he's just kind of doing whatever he wants whenever he wants and I don't love that.
I am not a fan of her saying she doesn't want to quit at this point. I actually think this would be one drama that I would be okay with her "going off to find herself" or traveling or finding a new job or just being away from being with him all day. I get that she feels important and appreciated and like she can't leave him, but I just feel like that's a cop out. Everyone telling her how great and wonderful she is while the girl who is supposed to replace her in a week is standing by made me lol. Also, why isn't the new secretary actually doing like any of Mi So's work? It doesn't feel like she's ready to take on the secretary role. I know that Mi So's excuse of quitting is to find a husband (still very ??? about that) and she's basically got one, but I'll feel very unhappy if it ends with them in the same highly unequal working relationship where he holds all the power and them seeing each other all day every day.

Date: 2018-07-23 05:56 pm (UTC)I've been struggling with the boundaries in this show, but they at least corrected some of that this week, with Mi So somewhat actually participating in the physical stuff and YS pointing out that being a bulldozer isn't the way to keep a girl. Her choice to remain a secretary feels like a serious cop-out on the part of the show. Leaving aside the potential problems of being your lover's secretary, the things that Mi So is taking such pride and pleasure in are available in multiple jobs. With her skills and, I am sure, a glowing recommendation, I find it hard to image that there aren't quite a few job opportunities that she could take that would allow her to learn about herself and still be with her love.

Date: 2018-07-25 07:14 am (UTC)The naivete over her dressing in his shirt on HER part was just asinine.
Park Min Young is acting with her eyes which is just annoying. If not for PSJ and the other two fun relationships, I do not think I could have stayed
