judging by previous acts the organizer brought to eu it might be another small clubs tour nothing too big and since all i have to do is visit my friends three hours train ride away to btw see him... count me in!

Okay so I thought about this... taking a lot of things into account, it makes sense for Leo to get his solo before Ken. Enlisting first, constantly creating music, etc. So I can accept that.

And I guess Ravi's solo tour can happen... he just released another mixtape, so. But happening so late in the year pretty much wipes out chances for another group comeback this year? Unless they come back in like the end of December but I don't see it. They better pack in the activities before you know what.

Events like this are always so weird and doomed to lose money from the start that they make me wonder if they're a money laundering scheme of some sort. I don't remember if it was these guys organising but there was some hip hop tour (Andup maybe?) in the past where they booked really tiny venues and even then so few people bought tickets that they had to cancel the tour to save face and dude just went on this awkward af European holiday.

Yeah, my first thought when I saw this was "who are these people organizing this? Are they trustworthy? Please don't let this be a scam." Ugh we've had enough of fans getting scammed. It's not fair to anybody.

I don't think it's a scam in the running off with everyone's money sense (the concert will happen if enough people buy tickets) but concert organisers like this are always banking on K-pop fans being desperate or gullible and yes, it really needs to stop.

I've gotten into so many arguments with fans because they're scared that taking action means oppa won't come back or it will hurt their group if they don't positively support everything they do but they really need to start enforcing their consumer rights, demand refunds and speak up (ideally report these companies to the better business bureau) when they spend money on events and they don't get exactly what they pay for. I've been to and worked at so many of these K-pop events where fans are being scammed in broad daylight and the organisers could not care less about everyone's safety and experience while they're paying through the nose for tickets and perks they might never get.

Yeah, exactly. I can't speak from experience because I've never bought VIP tickets or fan engagement tickets or anything that wasn't a basic concert ticket, but that stuff seems so easy to...finesse? "I know you paid for a fan meet, but we're out of time, so it's canceled." And because they're dealing with mostly girls and young women, they think they can do whatever they want with no consequences.

(Also, people can spend their money on whatever they want, but when I see some of these concert tickets over $1K... what? I know coming from overseas can be expensive, but some of that is definitely "how much money can we squeeze out of these fans". I can't see how something not involving Beyonce can be worth all that.)

Yeah it's so unbelievably cruel because some of them are spending their entire savings on these tickets thinking it will be like a fanmeeting in Korea but it's nothing like that. One of the things that really bothers me is organisers will ask for fan volunteers instead of hiring professionals to run the event for them and they will sometimes be used as security (which is ridiculous) and even extend to the people "hired" to shuffle along meet and greets and take VIP package photos. I've seen pics where people are blinking, some of the idols are not visible (because they never take into account that a group of 15 non-Korean girls will tower over them) and sometimes even completely out of focus and these go for over $150 per person. It's so bad.

Yes those $1k concert tickets...they know very well non K-pop fans would never pay something like that because indeed you can see Beyonce several times over for the same price, which sucks because I'm sure more people would enjoy these shows if they were properly run but they'll never get to experience them with those prices. If it's worth that to a fan then that's one thing, but as you say they're charging that much because they know they can take advantage. You expect a giant beautiful three hour stadium show for that, not some crappy gig at a rundown venue.

I agree about the experience fans deserve for the price. One of the best concerts I've ever been to was SM Town Live and it was less than $200 on the first level (not floor) (I think it was $180). I hope everyone gets to see a show like that, because when it's done right, it's done really, really well.

The SM Town shows always look like so much fun! Which one was it? It's much more reasonable when you're paying for a larger line-up like that because it turns into a kind of mini festival. I think they usually go through non-sketchy channels with their events and the difference really shows.

The photo thing: keep an eye out because it's such a once but never again mistake yet it happens every time! I'm getting flashbacks to that BTS tour with TGM where every stop had a fan photo opp and every set of fan photos had its own set of problems, be it lack of space or BTS standing in a spotlight and being six shades brighter than the fans. They even made them sit on the floor at one point!

It was the 2010 show in Los Angeles! I was still in school and spent all the money from *my last paycheck from my summer job to take my friend with me. My mom was like "WHY are you spending all this money" lol. That's basically how I justified it, there would be a ton of artists there so it was worth the money. No regrets! (I realized the second sentence made no sense lol)

Haha weird thing to relate back to that but was that around the time when Heechul got a Twitter?? That one was definitely so worth the money, it was not only before regular K-pop events became a thing but you also got to see so many SM groups in a way you wouldn't be able to see them anymore now!
