Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise landed at Gimpo Airport on the afternoon of July 15 to a crowd of adoring fans. As with his past eight visits to the Country of the Morning Mist, the actor showed a bright smile and happily greeted fans and airline staff on duty that day.

The actor has is in South Korea to promote his upcoming action film Mission Impossible: Fallout. Before his current visit, Cruise has come to the country to promote his films Interview with a Vampire, Mission Impossible 2, Vanilla Sky, and more. Along with Cruise director, Christopher McQuarrie along with co-stars Henry Cavill and Simon Pegg are also there to promote the film.

On July 15, it was confirmed that Cruise, Cavill, and Pegg will appear on SBS’ “Running Man” with filming taking place this week. Only days before on the 13th, a representative associated with the actors confirmed that the actors were considering an appearance on the variety program, but nothing had been decided yet. SBS echoes the sentiment too.

Notably, the announcement is drawing attention because of how unusual it is. While most Hollywood stars appear in studio entertainment programs, the Mission Impossible actors who are used to action, are a good fit for the show. Further, according to reports, the episode will have a special mission and quiz, and hopefully a return to the fastpaced concept of old episodes.

Although “Running Man” has lost part of it popularity over the years, the show remains popular internationally. This is especially true in other East Asian, and Southeast Asian countries where the show’s stars are loved. As such, the actors’ participation in the show will reach a large audience in and outside of Korea.

Meanwhile, Mission Impossible: Fallout comes out on July 25.

"Further, according to reports, the episode...hopefully a return to the fastpaced concept of old episodes." Not just to this episode but in general, please. I miss all the running and chasing around.

This is absurd. If Henry Cavill doesn’t want to be called a rapist then all he has to do is... not rape anyone.

The mental gymnastics some men are doing to position themselves as “victims” of #MeToo (https://twitter.com/hashtag/MeToo?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) is insane. pic.twitter.com/nafnZiaXGH (https://t.co/nafnZiaXGH)

I am looking forward to Simon Pegg, I'm excited to see how British weirdo sarcasm mixes with Korean variety.

The other two will be there I guess.

they HAVE to do a good old fashioned running man for this, please. The less talk there is, the less awkward it will be with the in-ear-translators etc.

I feel like Tom and Simon won't be awkward with the cultural barrier, but Cavill...eh.
